About Contract Management Oracle Primavera Contract Management is a multi-user, multi-project Web-based application that manages all aspects of contract control from planning to managing to tracking historical information. This application can be used in conjunction with P6 EPPM. Contract Management communicates to its clients through the HTTP and HTTPS protocols which allows companies complete control over how they provide access to the application. Contract Management's own internal security then allows companies to tailor access within the application. Use Contract Management to: Store, organize, and track contract information Keep contracts on-time and within budget Cross-reference and link documents for quick, easy retrieval Maintain historical data that can be used for the life of the project and referenced in future projects Aid in resolving disputes or claims Working with Contract Management 3

Contract Management System Architecture Data Sheet Depending on your organization's specific deployment, Contract Management generally consists of the applications, functions, and databases depicted below. Applications: Contract Management: The Contract Management application provides proactive cost control and document management to ensure that your projects and programs are successfully executed and completed on time and on budget. Contract Management Administration Application: The Contract Management application provides the ability to securely administer the Contract Management system across the web. Use this application to configure server and content management settings and to define users and user's rights. This application is accessed using a different URL than Contract Management. Special admin rights are required to access this application. 4

Working with Contract Management Contract Management Web Services: Contract Management Web Services is an integration technology that extends Contract Management business objects and functionality. Based on open standards including SOAP, XML, and WSDL, Contract Management Web Services enables developers to leverage standard interfaces to create integrated software solutions. These solutions interoperate with a wide variety of enterprise software applications running on diverse hardware and operating system platforms. Functionality: Core Enterprise Functionality: Use Contract Management for all of the following core enterprise functionality: Administration Data: Administrator and user accounts, access templates, content management, server configuration, and password settings. Reports: Generate and view reports using your standard web browser running Contract Management. Reports can be generated and routed via e-mail, saved to a shared or local file, or printed to a traditional printer. Documents: Contract Management includes document management support. Use Contract Management to create, distribute, manage, review, and version documents. Integrated Solutions: Build or deploy other systems and use Contract Management Web Services to integrate them with Contract Management. Technology: Contract Management Databases: There are two types of Contract Management databases: the administration database and project databases. Project databases are also referred to as groups. For a given Contract Management installation, there will be one administration database and one or more groups defined. The groups databases allow companies to organize their projects into separate databases. When you are logged into Contract Management, you are connected to both the administration and group databases. All of the multi-project summarization in Contract Management is done at the group level. Oracle BI Publisher: BI Publisher is an enterprise reporting solution that allows you to design, manage, and deliver highly formatted documents. A large number of standard reports are delivered with Contract Management. BI Publisher enables users to customize the standard reports or create entirely new ones. Oracle Universal Content Management: This server hosts documents in a shared repository enabling collaborative functionality such as document check-in/check-out and versioning. 5
