VALUE PROPOSITION AND BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES Genware Computer Systems works with their clients to successfully design and implement Business Intelligence Solutions. Genware Computer Systems is an Accredited Cognos Services Partner and Certified Cognos Technology Partner with a long standing track record of implementing successful solutions using Cognos technologies. The Genware Audit Processor is an application that provides reporting and analysis of Cognos BI Application usage. The Genware Audit Processor extends the reach of application usage information to the Cognos community providing advanced administration and auditing information for Cognos Access Manager, Cognos PowerPlay Enterprise Server, Cognos Impromptu Web Reports, and Cognos ReportNet. Key information provided by the Genware Audit Processor include: Content is provided through the use of Cognos technologies allowing for minimal training requirements and easy integration into existing Cognos application environments. For Application Users: Determine which users are utilizing reports and cubes within their Cognos application. Determine which Power Users are using ReportNet ad-hoc query functionality. Identify peak application usage times and response times experienced by users. For Development Project Teams: Leverage the dashboard style reports to monitor application, user, and server usage patterns. Simplify management of user communities by reporting on user properties managed through Access Manager including the ability to quickly identify users not assigned to the correct User Class or to manage user license allocation. Determine which Cognos components are utilized, how frequently and in relation to which subject areas. Easily identify when users experience errors with content and be proactive in response. Monitor usage of PowerPlay cube dimensions and levels to influence cube design and enhance cube build and cube response times. For Application Administrators: Perform Cognos ReportNet Job, Report and Session analysis. Track and report on changes to security. Monitor server usage, peak time and response times to determine required loads and configuration requirements. Provide proactive support through early identification of errors. Utilize administration style reports to conduct license administration.

PRODUCT DETAILS AND INTEGRATION The Genware Audit Processor is an application that provides full reporting functionality on information stored in Cognos Access Manager, audit log files produced by Cognos Impromptu Web Reports and Cognos PowerPlay Enterprise Server, and the audit tables populated by Cognos ReportNet The Genware Audit Processor caters to the needs of Cognos Application Users, Development Project Teams and Administrators. The following list outlines the integration points between Genware and Cognos: Genware Audit Processor Enterprise Edition Report and analyze information from: Access Manager Impromptu Web Reports PowerPlay Enterprise Server Genware Audit Processor Enterprise Plus Edition Report and analyze information from: ReportNet Access Manager Impromptu Web Reports PowerPlay Enterprise Server Cognos Environments Requires Cognos ReportNet 1.1 MR1 or above Requires Cognos ReportNet Log DB in SQL Server, Oracle or DB2 Requires 7.1 MR1 or above Supports Audit content for 7.0 and above ETL process runs on a windows platform Audit DB in SQL Server or Oracle Cognos Environments Requires 7.1 MR1 or above Supports Audit content for 7.0 and above ETL process runs on a windows platform Audit DB in SQL Server or Oracle

INTEGRATION/DEPLOYMENT ACCESS MANAGER REPORTING Cognos Access Manager is the application used to manage and maintain Cognos authentication security. The Genware Audit Processor utilizes the Access Manager OLE automation interface to extract pertinent information. Key information provided by the Genware Audit Processor include: User properties including Signon Options, Database Assignments and Time Zones. User Class structures. User Folder Structures. Easily identify users not assigned to the correct User Class. Simplifies data access management by easily identifying which users do, and do not have access to databases and database signons. Can identify which users are not accessing the system. Manage user licenses and system access. AUDIT REPORTING FOR POWERPLAY ENTERPRISE SERVER PowerPlay Enterprise Server generates audit log files that can be used to extract information on system usage and access. The Genware Audit Processor reads these log files, processes the data, and loads it into a relational database. Key information provided by the Genware Audit Processor include: Cube usage reports by cube or by user. Determine if user community is accessing cubes, who, when and how often. Determine daily and monthly usage of server i.e. how many unique users are accessing the server, who, when and how often. With the logging level set to detail, determine dimension access within cubes. This could lead to cube optimization and redesign. Average cube query response times. AUDIT REPORTING FOR IMPROMPTU WEB REPORTS Impromptu Web Reports generates audit log files that can be used to extract information on system usage and access. The Genware Audit Processor reads these log files, processes the data, and loads it into a relational database. Key information provided by the Genware Audit Processor include: Usage reports by report or by user. Determine which reports are being executed, by whom and when and how often they are run. Determine daily and monthly usage of server i.e. how many unique users are accessing the server, who, when and how often. Monitor average runtime and queue time per report, per user, per day. Identify when reports give errors as soon as the error has been generated.

AUDIT REPORTING FOR REPORTNET ReportNet can be configured to log audit information into a relational database. The Genware Audit Processor leverages this database to provide access to key auditing information. Key information provided by the Genware Audit Processor include: The ReportNet Overview dashboard report showing trends in ReportNet usage. Report usage in the following categories: Report Viewer, Query Studio, and Report Studio. Determine which reports are being run, by whom, when and how often they are run. Monitor server usage including how many unique users are accessing the server, who, when and how often. View Job run statistics and status. GENWARE AUDIT PROCESSOR EDITIONS Enterprise Edition The Enterprise Edition uses either Oracle or SQL Server for audit data storage, and includes Impromptu Reports, an Impromptu Catalog, and PowerPlay Cubes. The Enterprise Edition is intended for those clients that want to have more analytical capability of their audit data, want to make the audit reports or cubes available through the web and who want to cater to a larger user community. The Enterprise Edition includes: An import procedure of Impromptu Web Reports and PowerPlay logs and the Access Manager LDAP database. The import procedure can be fully automated. The choice to store the audit data in an Oracle or SQL Server database. A set of standard Impromptu reports that can be published to Impromptu Web Reports. A set of standard PowerPlay Models and Cubes. A cube-build and web update utility for Cognos PowerPlay that can be fully automated (Windows Environments only). Enterprise Plus Edition The Enterprise Plus edition includes a ReportNet module and provides customers that are currently using ReportNet the following added functionality: Enterprise Edition Enterprise Edition Impromptu reports available as Cognos ReportNet reports.
