Our Mission CHURCH PLANTING IN VERO BEACH, FLORIDA God has called us to plant a church in the rapidly growing Indian River County, Florida. Indian River is home to nearly 150,000 people and is growing at a rate 12% higher than the national average. However, there is very little godly influence in these cities. Our initial endeavor is to reach the city of Vero Beach with the further intention to send future church planters to the neighboring cities of Sebastian, Fellsmere, Winter Beach, and up the coast. With God s blessing, we will see the beginning development of Vero Beach Baptist Church in the fall of 2015. The church will be preceded by and founded upon a midweek Bible study beginning in the late summer. This will provide the catalyst for VBBC by developing a core group of people who will have spent months in a weekly, systematic Bible study. These founding people will be able to provide much needed fellowship, ownership, and relationships in the newly established church plant. Josh Robinson TESTIMONY The Lord has been exceedingly good to me by allowing me to have been raised in an active Christian home. He saved me when I was 9 years old and I was scripturally baptized at the age of 11. At 14 years old, at a church camp, God called me to full-time ministry. I acknowledged God s direction by attending West Coast Baptist College where I earned a theological degree and received invaluable ministry training. Upon graduation in 2008, my wife and I were married and moved to Ft. Pierce, FL to work at Liberty Baptist Church and Academy. For over 13 years, I have patiently waited for God to fulfill His call to pastor. I am grateful to partner with several churches in planting a brand new work in Indian River County. SPIRITUAL DESIRES To honor the biblical commission of loving my wife and training up my children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. To passionately and compassionately seek the salvation of any lost soul and obey the Great Commission. Our Statement of Faith The New Testament Church Vero Beach Baptist Church will be established as a non-charismatic, independent Baptist church. As such, we believe the local church began by Jesus, and is composed of saved and baptized members. Two ordained offices are Pastor and Deacon, and two ordinances are Baptism and the Lord s Table, neither of which are sacraments with any saving power. The Holy Scriptures The infallible and inerrant Scriptures were given by God s inspiration to holy men of old and preserved in the King James Version for English speaking peoples. It is the sole authority for faith and practice for the church. The One Triune God God is perfect, infinite, immutable and eternal in His being, holiness, love, wisdom, and power. He is self-existent and self-revealing in three Persons the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, each of whom is to be honored and worshiped equally as true God. The Lord Jesus Christ Jesus is the only begotten Son, born of a virgin. He was tempted as we are, yet without sin. He gave himself in death upon the cross bearing the sin of the world, arose again from the dead and was glorified in the same body. He is our Advocate and Intercessor. The Holy Spirit God s Spirit is the divine Agent in nature, revelation, and redemption. He convicts the world of sin and regenerates those who believe. He indwells, baptizes, seals, empowers, guides, teaches, and sanctifies all who become children of God through Christ. The Creation And Fall Of Man Man is the direct creation of God, spirit and soul and body. By personal, man became a sinful creature and the progenitor of a fallen race. Under the righteous judgment and wrath of God, men have within themselves no means of salvation. Salvation By Grace Through Faith Salvation is the free gift of God, not earned by any work of man, but received only by personal faith in the Lord Jesus. Believers receive the gift of eternal life, a perfect righteousness, deliverance from all condemnation, every spiritual resource needed godliness, and the divine guarantee that they shall never perish. The Last Days Eschatology is clearly understood by literal interpretation. The Rapture precedes the sevenyear Tribulation. After this is the return of Christ to the earth and His millennial kingdom. Following these are the Great White Throne judgment and finally the new Heaven and earth. Proverbs 4:2 - For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.
