What to Expect Remember, your dentures may feel obvious and awkward to you, but others won t notice anything but your great smile. The First 30 Days Day 1 Days 2 to 14 Days 15 to 29 Day 30 Day 1 This is the hardest day. Your adjustment to dentures has begun. Start out by eating soft foods that are gentle on your gums and teeth. Days 2 to 14 You may experience excess saliva, sore spots, and increased discomfort and healing time if you had teeth extracted or are a full-plate wearer. Days 15 to 29 Sore spots are healing and saliva buildup has lessened, but you may still have trouble speaking clearly and eating.
