Summary: This position is responsible for all aspects of the recruitment and selection cycle for Smithsonian Enterprises for the Retail Group, Media Group and Consumer Educational Products & Licensing, IT Financial and Administrative positons. Working with the HR team to coordinate recruiting efforts, provide recruitment and placement services to all hiring managers of Smithsonian Enterprises for entry level non-exempt and professional exempt positions. Conducts orientation and on-boarding classes for all new employees. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following: Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt professional and entry level personnel, interns and seasonal/temporary employees. Partners with hiring managers to gain strong understanding of their business and respective talent requirements and candidate profiles. Develops and implements proactive sourcing strategies to build a pipeline of qualified candidates.

Responsible for a Smithsonian Purchase card related to purchasing outside classified advertising. Responsible for monthly reconciliation and invoice processing associated with the payment of the card. Meets with hiring manager to provide progress updates on requisition status, calibrate on targeted candidate profiles, seek feedback on quality of candidate presented and align on potential changes in course of action and next steps necessary. Administers Staff requisitions, updating the status of recruits and completing all tasks associated with recruitment for the specific job, including composing vacancy announcements, and notifying applicants. Makes job offers, assures pay offer is within the SE pay philosophy for non-senior positions and set within the correct pay band. Responsible for verifying eligibility to work through the E-Verify system. Provides backup as needed for entering employee data in the ADP HRIS system. Works with candidates through the required Office of Personnel Security for pre-clearance. Conducts all new employee orientation and onboarding classes including processing all paperwork associated with the new hire. Coordinates closely with selecting managers to assure that diversity initiatives are implemented in recruitment strategies. Identify, develop and maintain productive relationships with key candidate sources including on-line searches, external job postings, ads, educational institutions, professional associations and publications, employment agencies and search firms, networks, media professionals, and professional and diversity organizations. Serve as the lead point of contact for all candidates throughout the interview process Ensure compliance with HR guidelines in regards to the hiring process Organize and attend job fairs Completes monthly recruiting status reports including HR metrics Works as the Intern Coordinator with the Smithsonian Intern office Performs a variety of administrative tasks in support of the HR function Manage sensitive and confidential information Responsible for archiving recruit files per SI requirements. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Candidates MUST have Bachelor's degree 4 to 10 years high volume recruiting experience with candidate sourcing & full cycle recruiting processes. Recruiting experience in a for- profit retail, media or private industry business for both entry level and professional level jobs. Excellent customer service and relationship management skills. Experience with HRIS/Time & Attendance/Applicant Tracking systems Proficiency in MS Office software (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).Visio Ability to exercise judgment and problem solve in sensitive situations. Excellent judgment and the ability to handle confidential information and compensation information. Must be able to travel to all locations as required. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/tasks.
