2 Benefits and Features 2.1 Series Products In terms of cable interfaces, external structure and performance indices, ViewPoint group terminals provide most abundant options in the industry, to satisfy diversified price and quality requirements of different users. Each type of ViewPoint group terminals has both products integrated with camera and products without camera, to suit different conference rooms. ViewPoint group terminals support various line interfaces including IP, E1, V.35 and ISDN, to satisfy user requirements and meanwhile avoid extra costs on interfaces. 2.2 User-friendly Features 2.2.1 Simple installation ViewPoint group terminals are highly integrated and household-appliance-like. Users can fulfill installation and simple maintenance themselves after some simple and short training. 2.2.2 Graphic interface ViewPoint group terminals can be controlled by remote controls with Chinese (simplified), Chinese (traditional) and English interfaces. Intuitional icons enable users to hold video conferences easily, requiring no support from professional IT maintainers. The HotLink function enables users to query and modify system parameters quickly and conveniently, so as to hold more efficient video conferences. 2.2.3 Web control support In some cases where the conference room is too large or it is improper to perform operations on site, the Web console enables users to control the video conference from background. Without any extra software, the Web console is accessible through an IE browser, capable of video monitoring and other conference control functions. 2004-11-02 All rights reserved Page 5 of 20

2.2.4 OneClick operations Through the graphic interface and shortcut keys, all common functions can be performed by a single click. For example, you can switch to view another site, display terminal status or switch camera position by a single click. 2.2.5 Abundant maintenance methods To simplify user application and maintenance, ViewPoint group terminals provide many easy maintenance functions, helping users to locate and resolve problems fast. 2.3 Powerful Functions 2.3.1 Phone-like service After entering the videoconferencing number of the called party rather than a complicated IP address, the user can initiate a call by pressing a single key on the remote control. The operations are as simple as making a phone call. 2.3.2 SiteCall ViewPoint group terminals provide a SiteCall function that is unique in the industry. With this function, the user can hold multipoint video conferences at any time (unnecessary to reserve the conferences) directly from the terminal, and invite participants through the address book. The operations are so easy that no help is required from IT maintainers. 2.3.3 Abundant conference modes In addition to the complete set of built-in H.320 multipoint conference control functions, ViewPoint group terminals provide as complete H.323 multipoint conference control functions, which is unique in the industry. In an H.323 multipoint conference, the user can request/release chair, view/browse/broadcast sites, roll call, set continuous presence and add/delete sites freely. With the SiteCall function, the user can fulfill the whole conference process by himself, from holding, controlling to ending. 2.4 Quality Video and Audio Effect 2.4.1 Clear and smooth picture ViewPoint group terminals adopt Huawei proprietary technologies VideoIntensifier and ViewProcessing to increase the picture compression ratio remarkably. Under 2004-11-02 All rights reserved Page 6 of 20

the same bandwidth, they provide more vivid, clearer and smoother pictures than other terminals. For example, when the conference rate is 128Kbit/s, the picture frame rate reaches 15f/s; when the conference rate is 256Kbit/s or above, the picture frame rate reaches 30f/s. 2.4.2 Outstanding acoustics ViewPoint group terminals adopt the advanced technology of fast auto-sensing and full-duplex digital acoustic echo cancellation (AEC), to identify and cancel ambient echoes effectively. The reliable automatic gain control (AGC) technology, on the other hand, makes the audio output independent from the distance between the user who speaks and the microphone. In addition, Huawei proprietary technologies AudioEnhancer and SilveryVoice make the user s voice more resonant and distinct so that the users can communicate with each other without striking a blowing, no matter how large the conference room might be. 2.4.3 Adjustable video parameters ViewPoint group terminals have a built-in system for video parameter adjustment. With this system, the user can adjust the background illumination, contrast, saturation and luminance. Therefore, the video quality can maintain high even when the ambient conditions are poor. 2.5 Abundant Features 2.5.1 Desktop transmission ViewPoint group terminals provide a unique desktop transmission function, to share contents displayed on the PC monitor with remote sites. The contents can be all forms of electronic documents or files. While the main monitor displays the remote motion pictures, the auxiliary monitor/vga projector can display the desktop contents transmitted from the remote site. Sharing of abundant contents may shorten the distance between conference participants. 2.5.2 DualView With the DualView function, ViewPoint group terminals can transmit two channels of motion pictures in the picture-in-picture (PIP) form. DualView enables the remote site to view two scenes of the local site simultaneously, expanding its viewing scope. 2004-11-02 All rights reserved Page 7 of 20

2.5.3 XGA output ViewPoint group terminals support powerful XGA output (the resolution may reach as high as 1024*768). As a major way to output high-resolution video, XGA can be either the main output or the auxiliary output. As a result, LCD screens or projectors may be used to replace bulky and unwieldy TV sets, and the video effect may be improved greatly. 2.5.4 Camera features ViewPoint group terminals support: Local/Remote camera control in point-to-point or multipoint conferences (both H.320 and H.323) Presetting 10 positions of local camera and 10 positions of remote camera in point-to-point mode Free video switching during the conference Masking of local video, so that some sensitive materials are not disclosed to remote sites 2.6 Secure and Reliable Design 2.6.1 Complete authentication mechanism The videoconferencing system provides a complete security authentication mechanism. Authentication of SiteCall users ensures that only valid users can hold video conferences through the videoconferencing network. Terminals must be registered and authenticated on the GK, to ensure the security of conferences over the IP network. System configuration authorities and conference control password effectively avoid illegal operations by unauthorized users. 2.6.2 Strong adaptability to environment ViewPoint group terminals are designed and strictly tested according to security specifications, electromagnetic compatibility and reliability specifications. Therefore, they are very environment-adaptable. The intelligent overheat protection function can adjust the internal temperature of the terminals so that the terminals can work normally even in a hot environment (or without air-conditioners). 2004-11-02 All rights reserved Page 8 of 20

2.6.3 Excellent tolerance against network errors ViewPoint group terminals can tolerate most network errors like error bit, packet loss, clock drift or occasional disconnection, so as to ensure the uninterrupted proceeding of conferences to the full extent. 3 Typical Solutions 3.1 Typical Networking for Video Conference ViewPoint group terminals can support various conference deployment schemes: Hold point-to-point conferences with another ViewPoint group terminals of the same type Hold multipoint conferences with MCUs Hold point-to-point or multipoint conferences with ViewPoint 8220 video phone or ViewPoint OpenEye (software terminal) Communicate with PSTN phones through the voice gateway Fulfill NAT traversal with the help of Huawei MCUs Figure 3-1 Typical networking for video conference 2004-11-02 All rights reserved Page 9 of 20

3.2 Networking for T.120 Data Conference Figure 3-2 Networking for T.120 data conference ViewPoint group terminals support standard T.120 data conference, providing such functions as whiteboard, file transmission, application sharing and chatting. A terminal can connect with a PC through the data conference software for PC, to enable the communication channel for data conference through H.320. 4 Series Type Introduction Table 4-1 8060/8030mBox Types For large room application 8060 2MX IP: 2M Video input: 4 Audio input: 4 PAL 8060 2MXN IP: 2M Integrated main Microphone: 2 NTSC 8060 2MIX IP: 2M camera: S-Video Line: 1 ISDN: 384k Auxiliary camera: VCR: 1 PAL 8060 2MIXN IP: 2M Composite Audio output:3 ISDN: 384k Document camera: Line: 2 NTSC 2004-11-02 All rights reserved Page 10 of 20
