5.302 Proposed Schematic Plans (Up to 0 5 points): 5.3021 Design Drawings: Include in your proposal (Labeled 5.302) the following proposed Schematic Plans: All floor plans including: o Prop Layouts o Elevations 5.3022 Proposers are to utilize the Design Criteria Package drawings as developed by RS&H, Inc. and Tactical Design North (the College s Design Professional and Consultant) titled Renovation of Burn Building W-4, Fire Academy of the South dated 06/12/2014 listed in Section 11.00 for the basis of generation of the proposed schematic plans. 5.3023 Programmatic Requirements: The remaining Design Documents and Erection Shop Drawings will be completed by the awarded Design-Build Team during the Design- Build process. Close coordination with College Staff, College Construction Manager and the Design Criteria Professional will be required along with final design approval by the District Board of Trustees and College Administration. 5.303 Proposed Project Schedule (Up to 5 Points): The committee will assign higher points to those firms showing (1) Clarity and comprehensiveness of project schedule and (2) the Ability to maintain project schedule (proposed vs. actual). 5.3031 Submit a Sample of proposed project schedule and cost estimate/breakdown (at time of contract approval) vs. actual project schedule (indicating all changes) from a project listed in Section 5.1029 (Summary of Relevant Experience) for actual projects completed by the Design-Build Team. Major consideration will be given to Design-Build Teams illustrating the ability to properly schedule projects and complete them on time and to maintain sound cost control systems to properly keep projects within budget. 5.304 Proposed Cost Betterments (Up to 10 Points): 5.3041 Design Build Teams are encouraged to explore and propose opportunities for improvements and upgrades (betterments) to the design and/or specifications of the project as identified in the Request for Proposal Documents. No cost or low cost betterments are preferred and encouraged. The evaluation committee will assign relative scores (up to 10 points) to the proposers detailed written responses; special consideration will be giving to those Betterments in which generate a no cost or low cost betterment to the total cost value of the project without compromising the quality or integrity of the project. Each Betterment needs to reference the corresponding Base Bid Item in which the betterment is addressing as listed in Section 6.10 Total Cost Proposal. The Owner reserves the right to include any or all of a Design-Build Team s proposed Betterments, upgrades and corresponding price increase/decrease to the project. The Design-Build Teams Finalists will be given an opportunity during the scheduled interview period to present the merits of their recommended upgrades and improvements.
