Hello! Welcome to Cover 2 Cover! May we help you? Um, yeah I guess so. What kind of place is this??? [PHONE RINGS. answers and speaks silently on phone. She makes notes and seems to be answering questions.] Well, this is a Bible reference store. Never heard of one. People call or come in with their questions and problems and we help them find Bible verses that apply. Sometimes we dispatch the verses out to them. Watch (Into Microphone) Psalm 56:3 to the front, please ON THE DOUBLE!!!! [IMMEDIATELY PSALM 56:3 ENTERS from STAGE LEFT and stands at attention. hands PSALM56:3 a slip of paper.] PSALM 56:3 (Saluting) PSALM 56:3 reporting on the double as requested, ma am! Thank you for answering so promptly! Go to this address and comfort this child. And please hurry, 56 The child is AFRAID! (Saluting again) Yes, ma am! Oh, of course. [MAN ENTERS STAGE RIGHT and CROSSES to.] MAN (upset) You ve got to help me, please. I don t know what to do. I m at the end of my rope! Of course, sir. We here at Cover 2 Cover are happy to help you find the answers you need in the Holy Bible. What seems to be the problem? [MAN and step away from to talk privately. Audience cannot hear their conversation. SALESLADY STANDS and CROSSES to.] May I help answer your questions, sir? My associate seems to be in conference. Well, yes. I guess I was wondering if you use all of the Bible. Oh, of course. Like our name says, we use the whole Bible Cover 2 Cover. I like to say that we believe in the whole Bible from Genesis to Maps. Genesis to Maps? It s a joke, sir. Just a little Bible humor. Well, I always thought that there were parts of the Bible that were out of date or that had been proven wrong. Oh, no sir. In fact, over the years the Bible has been proven true over and over again by human experience and by archeological findings. But that s not really why I believe the Bible is true. It s not? (Very certain) Oh, no sir. I believe the Bible is true because God says it s true. 2010, Sharon Kay Chatwell Page 3

[MAN and finish speaking privately. Now audience can hear them.] Oh, yes, sir. I believe I have just the verses for you. Just a moment, please. (Calling over microphone) Proverbs 3:5-6, and Proverbs 3:7-8 would you please come to the front? [PROVERBS 3:5-6 AND PROVERBS 3:7-8 ENTER STAGE LEFT quietly] (Speaking to VERSES) Thank you for coming. I d like for you to accompany our brother home. He is in great need of your wisdom and instruction. Oh, thank you. Thank you! MAN You re welcome, sir. And remember, we ll be here when you need more verses! [PROVERBS 3:5-6 and PROVERBS 3:7-8 put their arms across MAN S shoulders. They walk together STAGE RIGHT saying their verses to him, quietly and politely.] PROVERBS 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. PROVERBS 3:7-8 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. [MAN and PROVERBS 3:5-6 and PROVERBS 3:7-8 EXIT STAGE RIGHT] Say, he looks pretty bad. Is he going to be OK? Oh, yes sir. Didn t you hear the part about bringing health to your body and nourishment to your bones? Oh, yeah, I did. Hey, before I forget a minute ago you said that you believe the Bible because God says that it s true. Can you prove that? I can show you the verses, sir. It s up to you to believe them. (Calling to ) Friend, would you call up the Scripture Packet please? 2010, Sharon Kay Chatwell Page 4

(Calling over microphone) Scripture Packet: John 10:35, 2 Timothy 3:16-17 and Psalm 19:7-11, please come to the front. [VERSES ENTER STAGE LEFT and FACE AUDIENCE. Then they say their verses.] NOTE: The VERSES may be divided up as necessary based on the number of actors available. Be sure to do at least the first 3 verses. (The remaining ones may be omitted if necessary.) A long string of actors across the stage is always fun. For extra humor the last actor in the string could be the smallest person and/or have the most lines, etc. JOHN 10:35 Jesus said the Scripture cannot be broken 2 TIMOTHY 3:16-17 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. PSALM 19:10 They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; They are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb. PSALM 19:11 By them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward. Wow! Those are great verses! Old Testament, New Testament and Jesus Himself. Say Can I take a few of these home with me? Oh, yes sir. Take them all. Great!! (stops) Uh What s the charge? 2010, Sharon Kay Chatwell Page 5

Oh, there s no charge, sir. That s all been taken care of. Really? How s that? Jesus paid it all, sir. He paid for everything when He died for our sins on Calvary. And that s it? That s it. Because of Him, you have access into this great repository of wisdom, instruction and knowledge. And how late are you open? We re open whenever your Bible is, sir. That s great! HEY! I just remembered! I was reading a Bible that I found in the drawer of my hotel room just before I fell asleep And the next thing I knew, I was here!! Yes, sir. And we hope you ll come and visit us often. Good night, sir. Good night. And, thank you!!
