For Authors Optional Open Article» OOpenArt We have announced a new optional open access strategy for authors. OOpenArt provides a chance for scientists to publish open access papers in the online edition of our journals for a specific fee. OOpenArt papers are published in both the printed and online editions. The peer review process and quality requirements are the same in case of both the traditional and OOpenArt manuscripts. Our main goal was to find a business solution that is clear, attractive and affordable. The fee of an OOpenArt article is 900 EUR (1260 USD) but it can be even less. Akadémiai Kiadó offers a 50% discount for corresponding authors of a) subscribing institutions, b) Hungarian institutions, c) institutions of low- and lower-middle income countries. Format dependant pricing Only print-plus-online and online only formats are available, and they are priced differently. The combined print-plus-online rate is about 15% higher. Online only subscriptions are renewed accordingly. Other subscriptions are renewed as print-plus-online ones but customers can migrate to the discounted online only pricing option. In the future, MetaPress will continue to provide the online access. One single price irrespective of institutional size AK admits that there are many current experiments into pricing, based on probable or potential use, with institutional size being the most common approximate measure of use. For the present, however, AK believes that the best value for the subscriber will be delivered by having a single price for all library subscribers irrespective of the institutional size.
