Question: Please share any other perceptions or experiences you have about NTC. Respondent 1 2 3 6 12 16 17 19 20 21 22 25 27 28 Great place to get an education!!! I have been on and am currently back on the NWTC Foundation Board. I am hopeful that NTC will succeed because we need an educational alternative to 2 and 4-year degrees. We need certificate programs and applied learning programs. it is an incredible asset to this region, both for employers and for prospective students; it will best serve this community if its offerings match the needs/expectations of regional employers Wonderful nursing program! I am a past student of the Vo. Tech. and enjoyed the experience. This year my daughter was a student in the CNA program and she thought it was great. Would like to see articulation agreements with Oak Hills Christian College as well for christians who want a biblical education along with a vocational education. This would serve another population that currently doesn't get serviced. There is not a lot of press in the community about NTC. Love the new "Energy Center"...visible, out there, teaching and learning a new field that is not the future, but now. Try a tighter focus on skills NOT offered at BSU. My association is with the Dental assisting program which is among the best run in the region. The program in charges have a good feel of what their students need to learn and the challenges they will face. Their dedication and commitment is commendable I was told to never attend NTC for any reason. Most high schools and colleges are geared more toward visual and auditory teaching. Many very intelligent people learn better with the hands-on learning style. I believe the Northwest Technical College gives the desired education with learning styles for people who are interested in hands-on types of occupations...mechanical, technical, construction, business, etc. that are not otherwise available. I believe it is crucial to continue supporting NTC for the economic security of our local communities and families. Technical/trade occupations are extremely important and lead to good paying jobs in 2 years - with option of completing a 4 year degree down the line if needed. We need more strong manufacturing programs that our MN industry needs workers for NOW, not 4 years down the road! Also - how about some medical training - like X-Ray tech, imaging, lab techs, etc - with Sanford here, and growing - I'd be interested in seeing much more of this - or physical therapy techs!! The courses offered by Optivation, or its predecessor, were often cancelled, which happened enough time that I and others I know stopped registering for them. Report by Item Page 2
