Speakers and Panelists Mr. Eivind S. Homme H. E. Ambassador, Royal Norwegian Embassy New Delhi H.E. Ambassador Eivind S. Homme did his Master studies in Political Science at the University of Oslo and at Harvard University. He has also attended the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy and served as Navigation and Communication Officer in the Royal Norwegian Navy. Homme is a career diplomat for the last 31 years and served in various positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oslo and as a diplomat in Manila, Rome, Washington, Beijing and Jakarta. He has been working in Asia for the last 14 years. In Jakarta he was ambassador to Indonesia, ASEAN and Timor Leste. He has been serving as the Ambassador of Norway to the Republic of India and concurrently accredited to the Kingdom Bhutan since 2012. Ambassador Homme is Commander of the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit. Mr. R. S. Pandey Executive Director, Directorate General of Hydrocarbons Mr. Pandey is a Gold Medalist from two premier institutes, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi and Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad. He has International Diploma in Project Management and Advance Diploma in Spanish language from University of Havana. Presently, he is Executive Director in Directorate General of Hydrocarbons. He has more than 37 years of experience of working in oil & Gas industry in various capacities in different oil provinces of India and Research Institutes. He was Country Manager Cuba and headed overseas exploratory projects spread both offshore & onshore in Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Kazakhstan, Libya and Iran during his stint in ONGC Videsh limited. He was Vice President of Society of Petroleum Geophysicist, India and active member of Society of Exploration Geophysicist, USA. He has published several research papers in Indian & International Journals. He was also in Territorial Army and participated in operations Bajrang, Sahayta etc.
Mr. Egil Rensvik Science & Technology Counsellor, South & Southeast Asia, Innovation Norway Egil Rensvik is the Science & Technology Counsellor for South and Southeast Asia at Innovation Norway. Prior to this, Egil was the Vice President of Marketing at Norwegian Marine Technology Research Institute (MARINTEK). Mr Rensvik started his career at the Ship Research Institute in Norway. He then became a technology advisor for shore based Norwegian industry at SINTEF Industrial Development, before becoming the coordinator for Maritime and Offshore Operation (MAROFF) at the Research Council of Norway. Mr Rensvik holds a Master s degree in Engineering Cybernetics from the Norwegian Institute of Technology. Mr. Johan Petter Tutturen Business Segment Director (Tankers) DNV GL Johan P Tutturen has more than 30 years of experience in the maritime oil and gas industry embracing a huge variety of technical aspects as well as managing people and managers. He graduated from the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy in 1983 followed by several technical positions in the navy with the latest assignment as chief engineer on board a frigate (steam propulsion) before joining DNV GL in 1990. He has 14 years of operational experience in the Far East (Korea and Japan) from plan approval activities to ship new building site supervision (oil and gas (LNG) tankers) and more than 5 years as Country Manager for DNV GL in Japan. Tutturen s experience also encompasses 5 years as Head of the new building department at our Head Office in Oslo and is presently Business Director for Gas Carriers.
Capt. Sunil Thapar Director Shipping Corporation of India Capt. Thapar holds the key responsibility of heading the Bulk Carrier & Tanker Division, the main profit centre of SCI which accounts for nearly 70 per cent of the company s revenues. Besides, he is nominated Director on various Joint Venture Companies of SCI. Capt. Thapar holds Master (Foreign Going) Certificate of Competency, issued by the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India and MSc (Shipping Management) from the World Maritime University, Malmo. He is also a life member of the Company of Master Mariners of India. His professional journey started as a Cadet in 1974. After serving on diverse types of ships in various ranks, the responsibility of first command came at the young age of 26 plus years. After putting in about 13 years of fleet service, Capt. Thapar joined the SCI shore establishment in 1987 and served in various departments in different capacities. He was also posted in China as the Chief Representative of SCI to develop business activities in the Far East region. Capt. Thapar has in depth knowledge and vast experience in handling Technical and Commercial aspects of shipping including Offshore, Liner and Container segments. He has been associated with various National and International Maritime organizations and has been a speaker on maritime related issues at various shipping conferences and seminars. Mr. Olav Tore Breilid Senior Vice President Maritime Lending Export Credit Norway Mr. Breilid is educated at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). He has worked within the Norwegian export credit system since 1994. In the period up to 2009 he had various positions in Eksportfinans, such as Head of Treasury, Director of Finance and Director of Risk Management and Operation. From 2009 he has been in the lending department Maritime Lending in both Eksportfinans and Eksportkreditt.
Mr. Lasse Karlsen Mr. Karlsen graduated as M.Sc. from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim (NTNU) in 1982 with the Faculty of Engineering Science and Technology. He joined UNIFAB AS which provided maintenance and modification to the offshore Oil and Gas industry in the North Sea and was appointed as the companies Managing Director. In 2000 Karlsen engaged as Managing Director in Saltdalsverftet AS, a new building and repair yard for ferries and fishing vessels. In 2004 he moved to the Norwegian Maritime Authority as Director for fishing vessels and in 2006 he was appointed Technical Director. Karlsen are engaged in innovations and new technology like ship concepts, hull materials, new fuels Gas/LNG and Li ion battery propulsion as well as follow up of major ship accidents and equipment failures. He is also delegate to the UN International Maritime Organization (IMO) Marine Safety Committee (MSC) and participates as expert in the EU ESSF Subgroup on LNG. Mr. Samardzic Marijan Area Manager for India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh DNV GL Maritime Mr. Samardzic Marijan born on May, 25th,1969 in Split Republic of Croatia. He has a Master s degree in naval architecture. He Joined on 2003 12 01, after short tenure in Germany, and 5 year long tenure in Korea joined office in Mumbai in January 2009 as newbuilding expert. From 2009 08 15 till date holding position of Country Manager India. Role has been extended to cover Indian subcontinent since 2011 01 01 within GL, and due to the merger since 2013 11 01 within DNV GL.
Mr. S. Hajara EX CMD of Shipping Corporation of India Mr. Sabyasachi Hajara graduated with First Class Honours in B.Sc (Chemistry) from Kolkata University in 1970 and was awarded a Silver Medal by his College for proficiency in result. He obtained Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, Kolkata in 1973 securing Second Position in the Order of Merit and was placed in the Institute's Roll of Honours. He was also awarded the "Pfizer" scholarship. He joined the Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) on May 2, 1973. He also obtained Degree in Law from Kolkata University in 1977. He also obtained Post Graduate Diploma in Shipping and Post Graduate Diploma in International Maritime Law & Marine Insurance from the Norwegian Shipping Academy. In both the PG Diplomas, he secured First Positions in the Order of Merit. Mr. Hajara has rich experience in various aspects of shipping. He was promoted to the post of General Manager (Bulk Carrier & Tanker Division) in 1997 and was in charge of Bulk Carriers, Chartering, Specialized tankers & LNG Projects. He was chosen as "Project Leader" of the SCI team for "Project Renaissance" a Management Consultancy Project for Corporate Transformation. He was elevated to the position of Director (Personnel and Administration) and Director (Grievances) on February 1, 2001. On September 1, 2005, he assumed charge as Chairman and Managing Director of The Shipping Corporation of India Limited and superannuated from this post. Mr. Hajara is an eloquent speaker and is much sought after by the national and international maritime fraternity for his lucid and thought provoking presentations. Mr. Rajeev Kumar Mathur is an Engineer by profession and holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration with specialization in Marketing Management. He serves as an Executive Director of Marketing at GAIL. Mr. Mathur was overall executive in charge for managing people and profits through sales and marketing of product and services offered by GAIL since 2010. In his 30 years of rich experience in Gas Industry he has escorted many initiatives in different profiles under Marketing and Business Development areas. His experience include overseeing the marketing functions, managing regulatory affairs, pricing, contract management and high stake legal cases as well as handling of stakeholders viz. investors, key ministries industrial chambers, etc. His major achievements include successfully negotiating big ticket LNG contracts with international suppliers, negotiating with the government of 4 countries for sourcing of Natural Gas through TAPI pipeline route, establishing international sourcing desk in GAIL and LNG trading operations at Singapore, procedure to procure the spot cargo etc. Apart from the above, Mr. Mathur successfully coordinated the organization of 08th Asia Gas Partnership Summit (AGPS) (the largest Natural gas event in South Asia), represented India during Bilateral Cooperation in Energy Sector, acted as a coordinator for the sub group on Natural Gas sector for preparing the Approach paper for natural gas for MoPNG, was associated with MoPNG in the formulation, structuring and drafting of National gas Regulatory Board Bill, 2001. Mr. Saunak Rai Vice President (LNG B.D. & Commercial Operations), Norgas Carriers Private Limited Mr. Saunak Rai is a member of senior management team in Norgas Carriers, a 100% owned subsidiary of IM. Skaugen. He is presently heading the LNG Business Development and Commercial operations department. His task is to create innovative LNG logistics solutions for customers of Small Scale LNG and also to efficiently carry out the commercial operations of the entire Norgas fleet. Mr. Saunak Rai is a licensed Master Mariner and has extensive experience working on LNG vessels, Tankers, Bulk Carriers and Container vessels. After completing his sea career, he joined shore office of Maersk LNG in Copenhagen, where he was managing the commercial operations of Maersk s LNG fleet. During his employment with A.P. Moller Maersk, Mr. Saunak represented Maersk in OCIMF, as a part of Navigations and Routes Sub Committee. He also represented OCIMF in IMO, participating in the E Navigation sub Committee. He has completed his Master s in Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School, Denmark. During his MBA Mr. Rai, wrote his Integrated Strategy Project on LNG Bunkering. He is also a certified Chartered Ship Broker and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Ship Brokers, UK.

Ms. Seeba Ann Mathew Senior Consultant and Deputy Head of Section DNV GL Management Consulting Arm Shipping Advisory, Singapore Her role encompasses strategic & management advisory in the maritime and downstream oil & gas industry. She does industry wide benchmarking, demand forecasting, strategic roadmap development, financial due diligence, optimization studies and business case development with various clients. She is also involved in environmental impact projects for the above industries and deals with regulatory issues such as maritime emissions, ballast water management, energy efficiency etc. She is also largely involved in upstream and downstream LNG supply chain consulting assignments. She has been extensively involved in projects related to market analysis and growth potential of LNG fuelled shipping, technical & operational feasibility, economic & environmental benefits and developing business case for LNG fuelled shipping & LNG bunkering. Seeba has been active as project manager of a wide variety of projects, largely LNG as fuel feasibility and design studies.
