It is seldom a smooth ride. The bumps are many; Exams, Competition, Career and changing relationships with friends, parents, teachers' etc. It can become too much at times. Jidnyasa highly successful Psycho-educational program for High school students. It was developed through a liaison with two other agencies, with the mission of spreading mental health awareness in early adolescents in schools. Jidnyasa's priority is to help adolescents, mainly schools with students from economically backward strata, free of charge, to overcome the crisis of this age through training in six modules viz.: Adolescence as a life-stage; Sex education; Value Education; Substance Abuse prevention; Career education; & Stress management. The demand for such a unique & effective program from schools of economically upper strata has forced Jidnyasa to spread their services to such establishments as well. Jidnyasa is now training voluntary teams in other districts to conduct Jidnyasa's six estimable modules. Manovikas started in year 2000, is a unique project with a focus on sensitizing the community about mental health issues, by helping people to monitor their emotions and behavior, and provide information vital for early detection of mental health problems. The Prasaraks (members) of Manovikas are not mental health professionals, but common people from our immediate society, thoroughly trained over a period of 3 months by a team of mental health professionals at IPH. They make presentations FREE OF COST to schools / colonies / housing societies / offices / industries on request. Community outreach Mental Health information modules presentation
