I have published extensively on international journals on regulation/incentives schemes, antitrust, state aid, procurement supply chain. The industrial sectors I have mainly worked on are the energy and water sector, motorways, telecommunications and the European car sector. Besides academic work, I have carried out consulting work for several institutions and private organizations. I acted as a consultant to the Italian Ministry of Environmental Policies and later to several regional and local authorities on the design of water prices. I have also worked for the Italian Energy Regulator and the World Bank on the restructuring of utility sectors and their impact on the affordability of utility bills; and I m actually working as external consultant for the IPTS Directorate General Joint Research Centre (DG JRC, EU) on public incentives (i.e. innovation vouchers and inducement prizes) to foster firms innovation.
