RedR UK Recruitment Service: Information and Terms of Business About RedR UK Each year millions of people around the world feel the effects of natural disaster and conflict. RedR is an international charity that improves the effectiveness of disaster relief, helping save and rebuild the lives of people affected by disaster worldwide. We do this by delivering essential training and support to relief organisations and their staff, and by supplying skilled professionals to humanitarian programmes. Our work helps to ensure that the right people with the right skills are responding to global emergencies, and enables both local and international relief workers to react to the needs of those affected by disaster, efficiently and safely.
An introduction to RedR s Recruitment Service RedR has around 1700 members on our register that are all qualified and are of the highest standard in the humanitarian sector. All of RedR s members are carefully selected, trained, competent and committed personnel. In order to become a RedR Register Member, candidates are assessed according to their skills, training, experience, motivation and commitment. Professional references are checked and the candidates undergo a face-to-face interview by a two member panel with expertise in the candidate's particular area of specialisation. The interview is divided into four sections; section one looks at the career to date, section two involves assessment of competencies; section three assesses managerial skills (from technical supervision to programme management) and in section four we explore the personal qualities and attributes of the candidates (team work, tolerance, attitude, crosscultural sensitivity, etc). Our membership register provides candidates who are proficient in a wide range of areas; engineering disciplines, logisticians, security, health professionals to senior management. Members fulfill all main criteria required for working within the humanitarian sector and have relevant experience in both the relief and development fields of work. In addition, each Member is supported by a network of expert peers and has access to specialist advice through our Technical Support Service. In the first instance we only refer assessed Registered Members for any assignment request. Should we not be able for any reason to find a suitable Member for an assignment request, we will try to search amongst our pool of Candidate Members (that is aid workers assessed by us and deemed suitable for membership but not yet interviewed).
