House of Delegates General Information The House of Delegate (HOD) session is utilized to: ensure current Student National Pharmaceutical Association Resolutions are up-to-date and non-redundant debate new topics that should be adopted by the Student National Pharmaceutical Association By-Laws All business sessions are CLOSED SESSIONS BE ON TIME and IN SEATS Must start promptly We must meet quorum in order for a session to take place
House of Delegates Session Etiquette Each SNPhA Chapter must have representation A chapter delegate must be in their assigned seat upon the beginning of the business session If a delegate is not present, the alternate chapter delegate may sit in the assigned spot If an alternate chapter delegate is not present, a chapter representative (chapter executive board or general body member) may sit in Silence all electronic devices Only speak when at microphone Proper order of address at microphone: Madame Speaker NO PHOTOGRAPHY OR RECORDINGS allowed during any business session

Examples of Resolutions and Proper Procedure 2 Resolutions per Chapter Each chapter is required to either modify one (1) existing resolutions OR propose a new resolution. Changes can include removal of old resolutions, combining old resolutions, or updating content of old resolutions. A second (2) resolution may be submitted ONLY if there is collaboration with another SNPhA chapter.
Examples of Resolutions and Proper Procedure GOOD: Resolution 2012.5 reads as follows: WHEREAS the use of herbal medicine and their consequent side effects are substantial throughout this country; BE IT RESOLVED that SNPhA supports and encourages ethnopharmacology as an offered elective in schools of pharmacy nationally to maximize positive health outcomes. (2014.5, PROPOSED BY: VIRGINIA COMMONWEALTH UNIVERSITY)
Examples of Resolutions and Proper Procedure BAD: Resolution 2012.5 reads as follows: WHEREAS the use of herbal medicine and their consequent side effects are substantial throughout this country; BE IT RESOLVED that SNPhA supports and encourages all herbal medications.
Deadlines All Resolutions are DUE: Sunday, DECEMBER 21, 2014 at 10:00 PM EST/ 9:00 PM CST/ 8:00 PM MST / 7:00 PM PST NO EXCEPTIONS will be made
Amendments Electronic amendments After the first business session at each respective regional conference, delegates will meet to complete amendments Server will track the amendments and changes Connection to a Wifi Hot Spot (Password and Log-In will be provided Immediately after Business Session) Only 5 computers may be connected at one time for efficiency.
