Tuition The Council determines the amount for the monthly tuition. This amount is due on the 1st day of the week or the 1st day of the month, depending on your contract. It is critical to be prompt with payments. **A late fee of $10 dollars will be charged if payment is received after the 15th of the month. If payment is 30 days delinquent, your child will not be permitted to attend Christian Learning Center until the account is paid. When paying in cash, please bring the correct amount. Christian Learning Center does not keep cash on hand for change. All checks should be made payable to CLC at FUMC. There will be a service charge of $20 on all returned checks. If a check is returned, full payment in cash will be expected immediately. Payment is required even if your child is absent. Any extended absences or extenuating circumstances may be discussed with the Director. You may request for your child to swap to a day not regularly scheduled during the same week. This must be approved by the Director/Asst., and it will be allowed only twice per semester. With prior approval by the Director/Asst., you may bring your child an additional day the child is not scheduled with a $20 Drop-In Fee due on the approved day. The Council has final review and approval of all special circumstances. Please respect our dismissal time of 2:00 PM. Any child remaining after 2:15 will be charged $1 per minute. Weather Policy CLC at FUMC will close any time the Milan Special School District is closed due to inclement weather. In addition, the Director may choose to close if the weather is too inclement for small children. In the event Milan Special School District opens on weather delayed time, CLC at FUMC will open 1 hour after the Milan School System. Please listen to local radio or WBBJ TV, Channel 7. However, if this would make our opening after 10:00, we will not open.

Health and Illness In order for our Christian Learning Center to provide a healthy environment for all, Please Do Not Send Your Child To CLC at FUMC If He or She Is Sick. We do not want your child to be uncomfortable, nor do we want the other children exposed. If your child becomes ill or injured at CLC at FUMC, you or your emergency contact will be notified. We Cannot accept children with any of the following symptoms: A fever over 100 degrees (must be fever free for 24 hours before returning) A discolored discharge or drainage from any orifice that may indicate active infection. Diarrhea or vomiting Rash Also, please inform the Director if your child has been exposed to any contagious disease. Please notify Christian Learning Center at FUMC as soon as possible if your child will be absent. Medication If your child requires medication during school hours, a Medication Form must be filled out. Any medication must be given to the Director or teacher. Medication will be kept in the Director s office until the end of the day. Please, do not put it in child s book bag or backpack and leave all medication in the original container. Transportation At the beginning of the year, please inform the Director and your child s teacher with the names of these persons who will provide transportation for your child. It is imperative to report any changes during the year. If we do not know the person picking up your child, we will ask for picture I.D., such as a driver s license. We will not allow your child to leave with anyone unless you have approved it with us. This is for your child s safety and wellbeing. Also, notify the Director and your child s teacher if your child will be leaving before 2:00 PM.

Discipline We will never administer any physical punishment to your child because of misbehavior. However if your child is persistently disruptive, the teacher will remind the child as to why the behavior is unacceptable and will encourage the correct behavior. If this method is not successful, the child may remain in the classroom with another staff member and be separated from the class while sitting in the thinking chair. Should misbehavior continue, the next step would be for the child to be taken to the Director s office and the parent contacted. What To Bring To Christian Learning Center Lunch - All children should bring a healthy lunch with a drink to school clearly marked with his/her name. A regularly used lunch box or bag works great. Snacks - Please supply your child with water, milk or juice. Snacks may include fruit, crackers, cookies, or any nutritious snack food. You will be responsible for your child s snack. Cover Up - Please bring 2 beach towels, one to lay on and one to cover up with. Your child may bring a blanket or similar item that gives them a sense of security for rest time. Some children use a small pillow. Extra clothes Every child needs to have at least two set of extra clothes in a plastic bag. Please include top, bottom, underpants, and also socks. All items of clothing must have your child s name on them and should be seasonally appropriate. Please put your child s name on all items brought to CLC!

What Not To Bring To Christian Learning Center Chewing Gum. No gum! Loose Change Change is a choking hazard for all children. Toys Toys from home cause conflict. Favorite books are allowed. Please make sure your child s name is in the book. Breakfast Breakfast foods should be eaten before coming to Christian Learning Center. What To Wear To Christian Learning Center All play clothes should be simple, practical, comfortable and washable. Please label all outer wear and other items that are generally removed in the course of the day. If your child is potty training, please dress them in clothes that are easy for them to get down and up again. Sneakers are more comfortable on the playground than sandals, flip flops, jellies, or other open shoes. General Information All applications will be reviewed and approved by the Director and/or the Council. No child will be allowed to begin without the proper records on file. These include completed application, certified birth certificate, and current immunizations, custody papers, Policies & Procedures Sheet, Emergency Contact, Medical Information/Release Form, Media release Form, and Permission to Participate Form and others as required by DHS or the board.

Honor our times. Early check in time is 8:00 to 8:45. Class time is 9:00. Please do not arrive earlier, as the teachers are making their final preparations for the day. Equally as important, pick up your child promptly at 2:00. Encourage regular attendance except in the case of illness. Get to know your child s teacher. We encourage exchange of information between staff and parents. All children must be walking at the age of 18 months at a stable pace. All children in the 3 & 4 year old rooms are expected to be potty trained by August 1st. Your child will be placed in the class that coincides with his/her age as specified by the public school system. If certain situations arise, the parents and the Director will consult about the placement. Only children enrolled in our CLC may attend class, unless a particular situation is approved by the council and doctor release on file. All visitors must check in with the Director before entering a classroom. Please schedule any birthday parties in advance with your teacher and the Director. Teachers are not allowed to distribute invitations for your child s party unless the entire class is invited. If your child is upset that you are leaving him/her, please leave the room quickly so that the teacher or assistant may take charge. If your child stays unusually upset, we will be sure to let you know. Most of the time, children are fine within a few minutes. If there is staff turnover in any classroom, the Director will make arrangements to place a staff currently employed in that class so the children will not be disrupted. Remember, we have an Open Door policy. We welcome your visits any time as long as they are not disruptive. For safety reasons, please check in first.
