After downloading the exe save it in "C" drive 2. 2. Run the setup, exe will be installed. Question 4: Is there any tutorial which can help me in trading? After logging in the software go to Misc- User guide Question 5: What is the basic computer setup required for POINTER? Pointer application will work in Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows XP & Windows Vista operating systems. Question 6: I am not able to connect pointer in Windows 98. I am getting access violation error First Check whether DSCLIENT exe is installed which is supportive exe to our software. follow the link of installation on site (http://www.ventura1.com/download/pointer/default.htm) If, Yes then check whether internet explorer version 6 is installed.
Question 7: I am not able to connect pointer in Windows Vista. I am getting access violation error and Failed to set Securityprovider Right click on pointer shortcut created on desktop Go to properties, Here click on compatibility, In compatibility, check mark Run this program in compatibility mode Choose Windows XP, Click on OK After doing this settings try logging in pointer. Question 8: What kind of Internet connectivity required for POINTER? Our software will work on any internet connectivity but internet should be stable. E.g.: Broadband or ADSL connectivity. Question 9: I have windows 2000 and still not able to connect to pointer. I am getting error 10060 unable to connect to trade server? In this case check your internet connectivity. If internet is working properly then check if machine is in LAN. If machine is in LAN and internet connectivity is thru proxy, check which proxy is installed. Different proxy software has different ports. Question 10: What settings have to be done for proxy? Pointer application requires SOCKS 5 port to be defined in LAN settings of your internet explorer and in our software login session. Question 11: I have Windows XP and still not able to connect to pointer? In first case check internet connectivity, machine is in LAN or standalone. If machine is in LAN than check proxy settings. If proxy setting are ok then off windows firewall. Question 12: In my Windows XP firewall is off but still I am not able to connect. Software is getting hang? Check which antivirus you have. If Norton is installed than disable it. Question 13: I have window XP, when I am trying to open market watch, access violation error is coming? After logged in don t open market watch, first take all three scrip master download from settings option. After download is complete exit and login the application.
Question 14: When I open user defined market watch and click on any fno scrip, it gives error? A In this case remove all fno scrips one by one, if still problem persist then make new market watch. Question 15: I have a firewall in my LAN setup, what has to be done? Our software requires TCP ports18000 18005 to be released in firewall. If firewall is installed in LAN setup than 18000 to 18005 ports have to be released. If internet connectivity is through proxy than proxy setting has to be done. Our software requires socks 5 port to be configured. To check whether 18000 to 18005 ports are released Go to start > Run > Type telnet 03.201.253.197 18001 If ports are released, it will show cursor blinking in command prompt. If ports are not released than in command prompt error will come could not connect, in this case you will have to contact your IT department. Question 16: Why Prices on POINTER are not refreshing? Prices on pointer will stop refreshing when there is no steady internet connectivity. You will be able to login but refreshing will be slow. Question 17: I am able to browse sites and able to login in pointer but rates refreshing is slow? You will be able to browse sites even if internet is slow, but pointer will not work unless internet is steady. Question 18: Can I download POINTER on more than one computer & login from any one of the computers? You can download pointer in any computers but can login thru only one id at a time. Question 19: What should I do if I forget my password? Incase you forget / lock your password you will have to send request to us for reset of password and pin on onlinepassword@ventura1.com Question 20: How can I change my existing password? Go to Settings Change Password. Input old password, new password & new pin as desired. (Password & Pin should be alphanumeric, minimum of 8 characters & different from each other.
Question 21: When I login to POINTER, I get the message Invalid Login id? In this case you must have not typed login id properly, it is possible that there can be space at start. Question 22: I am getting message Do you want to update your version with the latest one? Whenever newer version is there you will be prompt with this message select (yes) and you will be updated with newer version. Question 23: While placing a order I am getting error Order rejected by RMS as margin required is Rs4930, while available margin is Rs-34726? You will get this error when margin is not there. Question 24: While placing a order I am getting error Limit Orders disallowed in the session? You will get this error when normal market is not on. Question 25: While placing a order I am getting error Order rejected as Scrip has not been permitted for trading? You will get this error when scrip is restricted due to compliance reason. Question 26: While placing an order I am getting error Rate not within Circuit Limits? This error will appear when your placed order rate is out of price range. Question 27: While canceling a order I am getting error Order does not exist? You will get this error when that particular order has become a trade but your terminal has not fetched. In this case you will have to exit and relogin the application. Question 28: When I placed a order I got a message Killed By Exch? In this case order must has been rejected / cancelled by exchange. Question 29: The trading system is not available for trading?
You will get this error when normal market is not on.. Question 30: What should I do in case of system failure? In case of system failure you can call at your branch and square off positions.
