EFT/POS DRIVER SOFTWARE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION SEPTEMBER 2012 treibauf AG - Gubelstrasse 59 - CH-8050 Zürich Telefon +41 44 355 50 80 - Telefax +41 44 355 50 81 info@treibauf.ch - www.treibauf.ch

PEPPER CONNECTS We are delighted to present our latest product: Pepper. Pepper is a universally usable EFT driver between EFT/POS terminals and your till software. With only one interface Pepper covers a wide range of EFT/POS terminals in several countries. Pepper provides one single API for the development and enables uninhibited communication with an often heterogeneous EFT/POS terminal population in different countries. Pepper is an important component and our contribution to the EMV project. This is how we support the successful launch of the EMV standard. The more EFT/POS terminals are connected to your till software, the higher the complexity for development and maintenance will become. In such a case it is no longer advisable to jeopardise the stability of one's own POS software through the implementation of many different interfaces. Rely on Pepper! Page 2

PEPPER FEATURES Pepper supports many proprietary interfaces of either older generation of EFT terminals as well as latest EMVcompliant devices. You can integrate our driver into attended and unattended till systems as well as into web based solutions. What does the Pepper software include? Support of many country standards like ZVT, VEZ 5.1, BANKART, EPS42, VIC, etc. A detailed list of supported terminal types and protocols can be found on our web site. Support of many EMV-compliant terminals in these countries. The complete EMV-functionality is supported, e.g.: triggering of data transmission/submission, detailed terminal status reporting, preparation of sales slips, reporting of errors in financial flow, error handling. Message exchange and monitoring of the communication with regard to timeouts and content. Simplified developer interface (API). A clearly defined interface between POS-application and driver. An EFT/POSterminal simulation software is also included as a development support aid. Log-functionality can be activated in order to analyse messages and facilitate error analysis in a short time. Serial (RS232) and TCP/IP communication are supported. Support of multi host and multi session as well as Terminal Server or Citrix Meta Frame environments. Support of the O.P.I. interface on the cash register side. Available for most common operating systems: Windows 32bit and Linux/Posix. A detailed developer documentation with many tips about implementing Pepper in your POS system is included (e.g. design of operation process, receipt guidelines and certification requirements). Interface to Matchbox - our standard package for the reconciliation of EFT/POS transactions. Page 3

AVAILABILITY OF PEPPER IN COUNTRIES Pepper supports many EFT/POS terminals in following countries. A detailed and up-to-date list can be found under the following link: http://www.treibauf.ch/0downloads/pepper%20terminal%20types.pdf The functionality of Pepper is continuously extended. Please have a look to your web site from time to time. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Pepper is available for Windows 32 and 64bit operating systems (Windows CE, NT, 2000, XP, Vista, 7), and Linux / POSIX. Other operating systems like Mac OS X upon request. We are able to offer you specific integration variations adapted to your development environment: Dynamic Link Library (DLL), Java Native Interface (JNI), Delphi, Visual Basic and many more. ADVANTAGES The use of Pepper leads to many advantages: TIME SAVING You can save time in the development process. You will be using well-proven software components with an easy to understand API. No in depth study of the extensive EMV specifications are needed. COST REDUCTION You can reduce your costs as using software components reduces the realisation time. Therefore you can use a single API to simultaneously access different terminals in many countries. FOCUS ON THE ESSENTIAL Our software allows you to concentrate on the essential issues and frees you from all EFT/POS problems. treibauf is your partner and provides further developments and upgrades for the driver software. Page 4

You profit from the preliminary experiences of other clients. Furthermore Pepper has been certified in many countries by different authorities. MIGRATION PATH Pepper lets you smoothly migrate from an older EFT/POS terminal generation to newer devices. You do not have to convert all of the terminals and cash systems simultaneously. treibauf's ADDITIONAL SERVICES treibauf does not just provide you with software.
