Kollective Technology Overview HOW IT WORKS As enterprise networks have grown in size, complexity and importance, corporate IT often struggles to keep up with the pace of change. Traditional networks, first designed decades ago, fall short when faced with new challenges such as the proliferation of video traffic, cloud based applications and remote offices. With Kollective, you can meet these needs today with your existing network infrastructure. Kollective offers cloud-based solutions that utilize the power of Software Defined Networking to bring immediate value to enterprise IT, without requiring new hardware. From its software defined enterprise content delivery network that powers millions of enterprise desktops to edge-empowered IT tools, Kollective drives a significant ROI and turns the promise of software defined networking into reality. THE CLOUD MEETS SOFTWARE DEFINED Kollective s solution is able to solve network challenges because of its unique combination of the intelligent network controller hosted in the cloud and a software-defined network within the enterprise.

HOW IT WORKS: Your desktop team installs a Kollective agent on your employees devices The agents work with the cloud-based Kollective Controller to create a virtual map of your network. This map takes into account both the topology of your network and its real time performance The Kollective agents form a software defined network that you can control and leverage for applications ranging from live video broadcast to software delivery Growing in scale is easy and cost effective since Kollective doesn t require any hardware deployment You can deploy and be up and running in weeks ECDN Optimization & Diagnostics Apps ECDN Management & Control Apps Content Apps, Kontiki Enterprise Video Platform 3rd-Party Integrations (SCCM, Lync, SharePoint, Chatter) Management API Application API Kollective (Cloud) ECDN Controller Enterprise Identity System Software-Defined Overlay Network Enterprise (Software) SECURITY FRAMEWORK CONTROL AND ADAPT The Kollective Controller gives network administrators complete control over how the network behaves. A number of critical components can be dynamically programmed for all or selected parts of the network. Attributes such as polling frequency, latency periods, bitrate levels and serving boundaries can be defined in the controller.

Kollective Software-Defined Network OPTIMIZE FOR QUALITY TREAT AS ONE OFFICE MINIMIZE NETWORK IMPACT CONSTANT OPTIMIZATION ACCOUNTS FOR: - Changes to network - User activity - Real world performance The system also adapts in real time in response to changes in the network as reported by the desktop agents. If a part of your network completely changed overnight, the system would detect the change and modify its behavior accordingly. If a segment is temporarily congested, the system would adapt and find alternate routes. No need to manually setup each LAN and subnet. BUILT FOR EFFICIENCY AND RELIABILITY Kollective uses a proprietary protocol known as KDP that is specifically designed for distributed delivery. It can be carried over UDP, TCP or HTTP and will automatically choose the best carrier for a given context. The UDP-based version is particularly efficient and supports software-defined quality-of-service settings using its adjustable congestion-control capabilities. For example, when distributing a massive software file, the desktop agent can detect congestion and reduce download speeds to prevent network impacts.

MULTI-LAYERED SECURITY Kollective is trusted by the world s largest companies because of our robust security. Security Highlights: SOC2 (formerly SAS70) certified Tier 4 (most secure) co-location facility 24x7 system monitoring/intrusion detection 1033 bit encryption public/private signatures Content encrypted in transit and at rest Industry standard federated identity via SAML 2.0 or AD PLAN FOR TOMORROW, BENEFIT TODAY With its robust API and flexible software-defined technology, Kollective is ready to go wherever your strategy takes you. You can start reaping the benefits today by: Broadcasting live video to all employees, simultaneously Allowing all employee to watch unlimited amounts of video on demand Delivering software files in hours instead of days Performing real-time tests to see how live and on-demand video will behave on your network at scale Eliminating 90% of network load from key choke points
