Do s & Don'ts in Toilet / Drain / Washbasin Non-degradable items are not to be deposited / Flushed in the toilet / Drain / Washbasin

Do not Deposit/ Throw Hair clumps / Thread in to the Toilet / Drain / Washbasin Hair: After cleaning your hair comb / brush, deposit the hair clump in the dustbin not in the toilet / drain / washbasin. Thread: Do not deposit the thread the toilet / drain / washbasin. It tangles, catches things, and clogs the drainage system. This will lead to water seepage / leakage of the drain pipes and in turn seepage into the lower flat. This will clog the drainage system and also damage the STP pumps. Hair clog removed from drain

Do not Deposit/ Throw Cigarette butts / Tobacco /Match Stick in to the Toilet / Drain / Washbasin Cigarette butts/ Tobacco /Match Stick: Although they seem flushable, cigarette filters don t easily biodegrade. Tobacco/ Match stick, swells in water, this will clog the drainage system. This will lead to water seepage / leakage of the drain pipes and in turn seepage into the lower flat. This will also damage the STP pumps Cigarette butts light should be put-off before depositing in the dustbin

Do not Deposit/ Throw Band-Aids / Chewing gum in to the Toilet / Drain / Washbasin Band-Aids / Chewing gum : Though they seem flushable, They are made of non-biodegradable materials, they easily tangle up with hair and create blockages. Throwing adhesive down the toilet is not a good practice as it might stick to the drain pipe. This will clog the drainage system. This will lead to water seepage / leakage of the drain pipes and in turn seepage into the lower flat. This will also damage the STP pumps

Do not Deposit/ Throw Baby wipes / Disposable diapers / Sanitary Napkins / Clothes in to the Toilet / Drain Baby wipes / Disposable diapers / Sanitary Napkins / Clothes / Socks: The padding and absorbent nature of these products make them too thick for the drainage system to flush resulting in clogged drains. This will lead to water seepage / leakage of the drain pipes and in turn seepage into the lower flat. This will also damage the STP pumps

Do not Deposit/ Throw Condoms / Plastic Carry bags in to the Toilet / Drain Condoms / Plastic carry bags : Easy to flush, but not so easy on the drainage system. Condoms / carry bag can inflate like balloons and cause fairly destructive obstructions of the drain. This will lead to water seepage / leakage of the drain pipes and in turn seepage into the lower flat. This will also damage the STP pumps

Do not Deposit/ Throw Leftover Food / Food stuff in to the Toilet / Drain Leftover Food / Food stuff :Although food is biodegradable, it can still lump together and cause clogs. Oily and fat food stuff congeal once they cool down, turning into solid masses that block pipes and cause serious drain problems. Non-veg items/ bones will get the system clogged. This will lead to water seepage / leakage of the drain pipes and in turn seepage into the lower flat. This will also damage the STP pumps

Do not Deposit / Throw Paper towels, Cotton balls and swabs in to the Toilet / Drain / Washbasin Paper towels, Cotton balls and swabs: Paper /Cotton doesn t break down easily, and although it may take a while for cotton products to accumulate into a clog, they are difficult to dislodge once they do. This will lead to water seepage / leakage of the drain pipes and in turn seepage into the lower flat. This will also damage the STP pumps

Do not Deposit / Throw Shaving Blades, Pen, Ball & Toys in to the Toilet / Drain / Washbasin Shaving Blades / Pen/ Ball & Toys: These items are non degradable. These will lead to choke the drains/ pipe line. This will also damage the STP pumps
