Provided independent programme advice to a major UK contractor in relation to a litigation matter where experts have already been appointed for both sides. Provided independent advice to a National Health Service Trust in relation to potential adjudication proceedings from a main contractor for a newbuild ward block. Provided advice on possible adjudication proceedings in relation to nonpayment of interim applications for a sub-contractor. Successfully case-managed an adjudication for a Sub-Contractor, managing the appointment of an adjudicator to decide upon matters in dispute on a services sub-contract. This led to a quick negotiated settlement with the Main Contractor. Prepared the programme aspects of a preliminary report in an arbitration on a major tunnelling and civil engineering project in Hong Kong for the Employer. Acted as Expert Witness on programme matters for a multinational corporation in a litigation matter. The dispute concerned delays by a ceiling sub-contractor and the extent to which any delays had delayed completion of the main contract works. PAGE 2

The positive case to be considered was the delay and disruption caused by a number of factors. The negative case to be considered was whether the sub-contractor had delayed the main contractor and the extent to which any such delay had delayed completion of the main contract works. Assisted an Expert Witness on quantum to value the amount in dispute on an open cast mining project over ten years. Acted as Expert Witness on programme matters for a developer in an arbitration on a civil engineering project being carried out under an ICE 6 th Edition Contract. The matters to be addressed were the defence and counterclaim, specifically the assessment of the original contract period and the time within which the contractor ought to have finished the Works. Prepared advice for a contractor on an inner-city residential block of flat refurbishment project concerning design liability and variation entitlements. Acted as Expert Witness on programme matters for a curtain-walling contractor in a litigation matter. The matters to be addressed were the defence and counterclaim, specifically a delay and disruption claim made against the curtain-walling contractor. The instructions included providing advice upon whether to include a potential claim for extension of time within the pleadings. Prepared a contractual defence for one of a group of Contracting companies once they had determined their employment under the ACA Form of Sub-Contract on two projects, including the preparation of an extension of time claim. Assisted one of a group of Contractors involved in a consultation exercise with a major national retailer by producing a series of programmes on a selection of typical superstore refits to establish model programmes for their store refurbishment partnering strategy. Prepared an extension of time claim during the course of a high-quality refurbishment project including a base programme supported by a dynamic critical path network and its constraint to demonstrate the effects of the delays and disruption incurred. Assisted the Quantum Expert Witness in a professional negligence litigation matter between a Contractor and a Consulting Engineer by producing a series of programmes to reflect the tender position and a delay impact analysis programme to show the effects of a the Engineer s negligence. Assisted the Quantum Expert Witness in an arbitration under the IFC 84 form of contract by producing a series of programmes to reflect the tender position, the as-installed work and a delay impact analysis programme to show the effects of a series of delays. Established base programmes for a major mechanical and electrical services new-build project from the Contractor s drawn barcharts including dynamic critical path networks. Prepared extension of time claims during the course of a high-quality refurbishment project including establishing a base programme supported by a dynamic critical path network and its constraint to demonstrate the effects of the delays and disruption incurred.

Investigated claims situations on three projects for a newly acquired facilities management company. Prepared and agreed extension of time and loss and expense claims on each phase of a hospital refurbishment project for a major national mechanical and electrical services subcontractor including constrained programmes to demonstrate the effects of the delays and disruption incurred. Assisted an international manufacturer of sub-sea oil and gas valves to defend a claim against them for late delivery and subsequent termination of their contract. Prepared a series of programmes for a submitted claim in litigation proceedings on a large urban civil engineering (roadbuilding) project for individual heads of claim. Prepared an extension of time and loss and expense claim for an Italian contractor on a highway contract in Bulgaria. Acted as Expert Witness on Programme Matters in two litigation matters concerning housing association and local authority housing projects. Prepared Further and Better Particulars of a submitted claim in litigation proceedings on a multimillion-pound housing refurbishment scheme for the Plaintiff Contractor, including assessing the programme implications of the events complained of. Prepared three loss and expense claims for a national contractor on related refurbishment projects. Prepared six other extension of time and loss and expense claims for the same contractor on a variety of new-build and refurbishment projects including establishing base programmes supported by dynamic critical path networks and their constraint to demonstrate the effects of the delays and disruption incurred. Assisted an international manufacturer of sub-sea oil and gas valves to defend a claim against them for late delivery. Assisted one of the main insolvency practitioners in their investigations into a building company and realised its outstanding debtor balances upon their appointment as Administrative Receivers. 1991-1993 Trett Consulting Norwich Senior Consultant Prepared financial and time impact data analyses of the electrical/software element of a 24M claim on a major civil and process engineering project within the construction of a new steel beam rolling mill. Prepared extension of time claims for three contractors and reported upon the validity of submitted claims on a gas receiving installation to the major valve supplier. 1988-1991 J. A. Elliott Limited Bishop s Stortford Commercial Manager Dealt with litigation, arbitration and claims both for and against the entire Elliott Group of Companies although nominally employed by the major contracting arm of the Group. Negotiated contractual terms for projects with clients as well as professional appointments for design and build contracts with external consultants. Upon the Receivership of the holding company and all but one of the contracting companies, was actively involved in an attempted MBO. Subsequently invited to join J. Jarvis & Sons plc as Area Surveyor reporting at Board level. 1988-1988 Wimpey Construction Management London Senior Quantity Surveyor Site-based on the HMP Belmarsh (Woolwich Urban Prison) project responsible for 17M (1988 prices) of M&E services, gates and doors, prison officers housing, social club and commissioning packages. Liaised with and directed externally appointed Architects, Engineers and Quantity Surveyors. 1987-1987 Bovis Construction Harrow Manager (Surveying) - I Division Site-based on the Langham Hilton International development in London responsible for 11M (1987 prices) of new-build offices and refurbished listed offices forming part of the development. Provided value engineering advice to and liaised with the Client and his Architects and Quantity Surveyors. 1980-1987 Drake & Scull Engineering Ltd. Bury St. Edmunds Department Surveyor Responsible for all Quantity Surveying functions for the mechanical and latterly the electrical departments of a regional office. The turnover of the electrical department was 1.2M (1987 prices) spread over up to ten projects at a given time. During 1986 was responsible for 1.75M of mechanical services on a hospital project.
