INFORMATION NOTICE UMBRELLA POLICY SUMMARY AND RELATED DISCLOSURES This information notice has been drawn up in accordance with ISVAP s form, but its content is not subject to ISVAP s prior approval. The policy-holder shall familiarize him/herself with the insurance conditions before accepting the policy. This is a summary of the USAA Umbrella insurance policy issued by USAA Limited. It does not contain its full terms, conditions, or exclusions. Please read the policy for detailed coverage information. Coverage only applies when there is a corresponding premium shown on the Declarations page. You may view your USAA Limited Umbrella policy online at usaa.com. The USAA Limited Umbrella policy is written in English and has a policy term of one year. COVERAGES When underlying liability insurance applies, the Umbrella Policy will pay damages, in excess of the applicable underlying insurance, for which an insured is legally obligated to pay because of: Bodily injury; or Property damage The Umbrella policy will also pay damages for personal injury for which an insured is held legally obligated. If a claim is made or a suit is brought against any insured for bodily injury, property damage, or personal injury to which this Umbrella policy applies, we will provide a defense at our expense by counsel of our choice, even if the suit is groundless, false, or fraudulent. We may cancel the USAA Limited Umbrella policy by sending notice to the named insured, by mail to the most recent address provided to us or, where allowed, by electronic means. In either event, we will give: Ten days notice if cancellation is for non-payment of premium. 30 days notice in all other cases. We may nonrenew the Umbrella policy by sending notice to the named insured, by mail to the most recent address provided to us or, where allowed, by electronic means. In either event, we will send the notice at least 30 days prior to the expiration date of the policy. Italy charges an Insurance Premium Tax on property insurance premiums. We are required to collect the tax and forward it to the local authorities. We will display the tax amount separately on the USAA Limited Umbrella policy and billing statement. COMPLAINTS USAA Limited strives to provide excellent service. If you have any complaints about our service, please refer to USAA Limited Complaints Procedures in the form titled Important Information About Your USAA Limited Umbrella Policy, which is included in the Umbrella policy packet. Glossary (The definitions of terms listed as singular are intended to refer to the plural as well) Insured: The person listed in the Declarations and residents of your household who are your relatives or other persons under the age of 21 and in the care of you. Insurer: USAA Limited, the company providing this insurance. Aircraft: Any conveyance used or designed for flight, except model or hobby aircraft not used or designed to carry people or cargo. Bodily injury: Bodily harm, sickness, disease or death. Business: Trade, profession or occupation. Business property: Any property on which a business is conducted. Driving contest or challenge: A competition against other people, vehicles, or time, or an activity that challenges the speed or handling characteristics of a vehicle, or improves or demonstrates driving skills, provided the activity occurs on a track or course that is closed from nonparticipants. Family member: A person related to the insured by blood, marriage, or adoption who is a resident of the household, including a ward or foster child. Fungi: Any type or form of fungi, including mold or mildew, and includes any mycotoxins, spores, scents, or byproducts produced or released by fungi. Hovercraft: A self-propelled motorized ground effect vehicle, including flarecraft and air cushion vehicles. Miscellaneous vehicle: An all terrain vehicle, antique vehicle, classic vehicle, dune buggy, golf cart, motorcycle, motor home, or snowmobile. Motor vehicle: Any type of motorized land vehicle or conveyance, whether or not subject to motor vehicle registration. Occurrence: An accident, including continuous or repeated exposure to substantially the same general harmful conditions, which results in property damage during the policy period. Personal injury: An injury arising out of one or more of the offenses listed in the policy. Personal watercraft: A conveyance, used or designed to be used on water that uses a jet pump powered by an internal combustion engine as the primary source of propulsion. Professional services: Any type of service to the public that requires the person rendering the service to obtain an advanced degree or a license, or other legal authorization to provide the service. Property damage: Physical injury to, destruction of, or loss of use of tangible property. Retained limit: The required minimum limit of liability for the applicable personal lines insurance coverage shown in the Schedule of Underlying Insurance on the Declarations. Underlying insurance: The types of personal lines insurance coverages for which limits are shown in the Schedule of Underlying Insurance on the Declarations. Watercraft: A conveyance principally designed to be propelled on or in water by wind, current, paddles, oars, engine power or electric motor.
