What we do A guide to our services

Retirement solutions since 1965 Hodge Lifetime has been a specialist in the retirement market for 50 years. Hodge Lifetime has been a specialist in the retirement market for 50 years. We offer both lifetime mortgages and annuities. These products complement each other well and we have a depth of experience in these fields. With a history of award winning performance we offer products with the right mix of flexibility and price.

What do we offer? Equity release An equity release lifetime mortgage can provide a means for those in, or close to retirement to release cash from your home. Amounts released can be used for almost any purpose, and can be a good way of improving your quality of life in later years. We build flexibility into all of our products and offer you features like the option to repay up to 10% per year penalty free and also downsizing protection, meaning that you can sell up, move home and repay your loan early from the proceeds after five years with no early repayment penalties. As a founder and current member of the Equity Release Council, Hodge Lifetime has been at the forefront of the equity release market for 50 years. This is a lifetime mortgage. To understand the features and risks, ask an Independent Financial Advisor for a personalised illustration. The Retirement Mortgage Our Retirement Mortgage is an alternative way of borrowing in retirement if you benefit from a reasonable level of retirement income and can afford to pay monthly interest on your mortgage. This product was designed with flexibility in mind and offers the ability to make overpayments of up to 10% per annum, and no early repayment charges after 5 years. Please note that this lifetime mortgage is outside the scope of the Equity Release Council s SHIP Standards. This is a lifetime mortgage. To understand the features and risks, ask an Independent Financial Advisor for a personalised illustration. Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.

Pension annuities An annuity offers a guaranteed income in retirement for the rest of your life. Our product is only available under the Open Market Option, which encourages our customers to shop around in order to secure the best possible level of retirement income. From 6 April 2015, new freedoms exist as to how you can access your pension. Before purchasing an annuity, it is important that you understand the implications in light of these new freedoms. If you are unsure how these changes affect you, and your decision to purchase an annuity, you should discuss this with your Independent Financial Advisor before proceeding. How can I apply for a Hodge Lifetime product? See your Independent Financial Adviser. Entering into an equity release plan or an annuity is a long term commitment that can be a good way of improving the quality of life in later years. As it is a long term commitment, it is not a transaction to be considered lightly and it is vital that you get it right. For this reason, Hodge Lifetime does not offer its plans directly to the public. We require that all applicants obtain financial advice from a qualified adviser. If you do not already have an adviser, you can start your search using the www.unbiased.co.uk website If you wish to undertake some preliminary research and gain a better understanding of the implications of entering into an equity release plan or an annuity, a good starting point is the Money Advice Service.

Our Values Our Values We believe that everyone is different and so we operate to an important set of values that have served us well over the years: Simple and straightforward approach We always aim to ensure that our products are fair, and are explained in a clear way. Commitment to service We realise that good service isn t only important when you take out a product. Our long-term products could last for more than 25 years, meaning that we must be there to support you over the lifespan of the product. It's easy to get in touch with us and talk to our friendly, experienced customer services team. Our products are only available through advisers Given the long-term nature of the products we sell, we believe that it is vital that each of our new clients seeks some assistance in understanding fully the implication of entering into one of these plans. More importantly, it means that our products have to compare favourably with the rest of the market, and that they offer value for money.

Why choose Hodge Lifetime? Hodge Lifetime launched the first equity release plan in 1965, and is the longest established equity release provider in the UK. We have been annuity provider since 2009 and all of our products are provided by Julian Hodge Bank Limited. You can learn more about our products by visiting our website www.hodgelifetime.com where a number of documents are available to our customers to read or to download. Over the last 20 years, some 270,000 households have benefitted from equity release, raising over 12 billion in the process. More and more people now consider equity release as part of their financial planning for a secure and happy retirement. Hodge Lifetime offer competitive standard annuity rates meaning that we can pay some of the highest levels of income for your chosen annuity options.
