Letters of Recommendation: You must submit two letters of recommendation from law professors, employers or other persons qualified to recommend you for graduate study in law. Please do not send more than two letters of recommendation, as any extra recommendation letters will be disregarded from your application. Personal recommendations will not be accepted. The recommendations may either be enclosed with the application in sealed and signed envelopes, or sent directly to the Office of Graduate Admissions. Please familiarize your references with the LL.M. in International Legal Studies and inform them that the committee gives considerable weight to the letters and may contact them directly for a reference. If English is not your native language, you must demonstrate English proficiency by taking the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) assessment, the Pearson Test of English (PTE), or the International Legal English Certificate (ILEC). The score must be no more than two years old. The score must be sent from the Educational Testing Service (ETS) using Institutional Code 8188 department 03, or from IELTS, directly to the Office of Graduate Admissions.
