Agenda 1. Benefit for the Customer 2. Description of the Function 3. The Function in the System 4. Technical Information 4

Claims are not just about warranty. There are many other reasons for paying a claim. Flexible framework for hierarchical checking End-to-End process Wide range of checks implemented and ready to use Define a hierarchy of possible warranty reasons Arrange them as steps in a checking profile Determine a warranty qualifier indicating the warranty reason Bring down the number of claim types: more transparency, less maintenance Complete integration into your claims process using the action matrix Extended screens give an intuitive overview of warranty related information Direct link to warranty check from equipment master Master data maintenance tools Standard master warranties, goodwill conditions and 0kmfailures Spare parts warranties without reference to serialized reference objects Emissions warranties for coping with legal requirements in the US Authorized claims and recalls 5

Ready-to-use implemented checks Master warranty checks Any number of master warranties can be assigned to a reference object By using multiple master warranties, different conditions can be handled. Use the warranty engine for legal and additional warranties, service contracts, commercial goodwill and more. Flexible set up of conditions for spare parts warranties according to many factors: material, market, warranty reason etc. Leveraging the functionality of master warranties for spare parts Authorized claims and recalls Check for existing and fitting authorizations or recalls Complete authorization request processing with integration into the claim handling is covered by a separate ACS. For more information, see http://www.sap.de/acs Special conditions manual setting and supplier recovery 0km check, US emissions warranty Override automatic determination manually The checking framework can also be used for supplier side warranty checks. A complete implementation of the suppler side process is available as ACS as well: http://www.sap.de/acs 6

Releasing the full potential of master warranties Set flexible and multiple warranty start dates Through dummy materials on the master warranty, different start dates can be used Example: 12 months from installation, maximal 18 months from delivery Make a master warranty valid only for certain parts / components (or other criteria) Define special master warranties for certain parts of a vehicle /object Example: Longer warranty period for powertrain / hybrid components. Criteria are stored in classification of part causing defect of the claim Combine master warranty items as and or or Make a warranty valid if either one or all of its items are fulfilled Example for and : Maximum X months and X km (Automotive). Both have to be met Example for or : Up to 10 years 10.000mW or up to 20 year 8.000 mw (Solar Industry). One has to be met 7

Additional functionality gives you more flexibility in your process Flexible handling of the outcomes of the warranty check Warranty qualifiers can be set manually by entering a manual decision code Claims for which no warranty reason is found can be rejected automatically Defect code and defect part on header level It is possible to automatically generate an item for the defect part (from header level) if not present already. Header and item level are kept synchronized, VSR check ensure this Decision code handling A fit between decision code and warranty qualifier is ensured by the system. Data quality for reporting is increased Ready for integration Can be used directly with your existing warranty process. Integrates best with other ACS for Warranty Management: Fast Start, Automated Claim Validation, Authorization, Recall Integrates with the usage of equipment, functional locations, or VMS vehicles 8

Easy access menu and specialized customizing 10

Set up of checking steps and warranty check results 11

Define checking profiles and assign them to claim types Separate profiles for inbound warranty (towards customer) and outbound warranty (towards vendor) 12

Master data maintenance support 13

Automatic warranty assignment Can be used with Equis or with VMS Automatic assignment for Equipment via determination table Updating the equipment can be done at one point in the delivery process or when the first claim enters the system Automatic assignment for VMS vehicles is realized using a VMS action Determination is done using a different determination table 14

Extension of equipment master A separate check profile is created for display in the material master. This allows e.g. showing all open recalls for an object. 15

Extension of screens in WTY Usage with equipment Top area List of all assigned warranties Tab Header Details New field: Repair date (for tax purposes) Direct access to hierarchical warranty check Information about spare part warranty details 16

Master warranty checks (Qualifier WA, EW) Several master warranties of different types can be assigned to the reference objects in order to define normal, special and extended warranties Checks for each master warranty type are easily set up Through integration in the warranty check framework, they can be given a hierarchy 20

0km damage (Qualifier 0K) US Emissions warranty (Qualifier WA) A warranty check step for 0km-failures is defined Tolerance parameters for the time from registration and for the measurement reading can be set. All claims that fall within these tolerances are recognized as 0km-failures In the US, all manufacturers are legally required to provide emissions warranties on new environmentally friendly vehicles for new-technology components Emission warranty conditions depend heavily on the state of sale and on the state of registration This ACS provides a predefined warranty check step for emissions warranties and a table to maintain the exact conditions: 21

Authorized claims and claims arising from recalls (Qualifier AU, RC) The authorization or recall number is given in the claim details. Forward navigation to the authorization/recall is supported The warranty check recognizes the authorization/recall and determines qualifier AU or RC For authorizations, this can be integrated with the ACS Warranty Management Authorizations that offers additional scope: Full implementation of the authorization request process Detailed checks for the fit of authorization and claim: Dates, partner, reference object, value etc. 22

Spare parts warranty (Qualifier SP) With master warranties: All master warranty features can be used Standard and enhanced functionality from this ACS (variable start dates, components etc) Or using freely defined criteria: Definition of conditions Spare part specific fields in the claim 23
