General Information on DMM Main Release 1 Changes in DMM 2/2014 and announcing changes in future DMM/PMD versions 1.1 Expanding K-Types to 9 digits From this 02/2014 version of the DMM, K-Types are at first 6-digit. In the TAF 2.2a, the field for K-Types is increased from 5 to 9 digits. Please take note of this change if you maintain your reference data in an external system. 1.2 Passing on the DMM/PMD software to third parties In the light of recent developments we would like to inform you again about the correct use of the DMM and/or the distribution of the DMM to third parties: From a legal standpoint, the DMM and the data supplier licence may only be made available to the data supplier for maintaining the data of his/her respective brand(s). If the DMM is passed to third parties for the data maintenance, the service provider needs to be notified that he/she is only authorised to use the DMM solely for the data maintenance of the respective brand. The data supplier is obliged to inform TecDoc on the use of the DMM by third parties and also to name the respective data service provider. 1.3 Country Restrictions in the Change Reports Please note that country restrictions CANNOT be listed in the change reports for new vehicles (cr_fzg_new). In order to prevent misunderstandings, this change report must always be read with reference to the change report for country restrictions (cr_fzglndbeschr_new / cr_fzglndbeschr_cng / cr_fzglndbeschr_del). The regions listed in your data supplier contract determine whether a vehicle with a country restriction can be viewed/used by you. 1.4 Reference Data to be deleted The DMM DVD folder "DOCUMENTATION\STAMMDATEN\REMAIN2DELETE" contains a list of reference data earmarked for deletion at the DMM version 4/2014. The list is available in Excel and PDF formats "Remain2delete_2_2014_en.xxx". It is essential that you make this list available to all data processing personnel in your company. Please inform us of any objections you may have against these deletions until 03.02.2014 at the latest. Also verify whether you have allocated any of your article data to TecDoc reference data that is earmarked for deletion and change such references timeously to the reference data offered as replacements. TecAlliance GmbH Seite 4 von 14

1.5 Data delivery with Package Manager Version 2.1 Data delivery is now done exclusively through the "Package Manager" tool. A separate price update is no longer possible. A new Version 2.1 of the Package Manager can be found on the DMM/PMD DVD under "DiskAddOn\PACKAGE MANAGER 2.1" or you can download the software through the link below - this new version of the Package Managers must be used to supply data from the DMM/PMD Version 2/2014 (DR0314 deadline 10.02.2014)! You should use a FTP-Client or Internet Explorer (or another browser) for the download. ftp://packagemanager:ku10-bbz1l@update.tecdoc.net FTP-Server: update.tecdoc.net User Name: packagemanager Password: ku10-bbz1a The settings and statistics of its predecessor are adopted when the new Package Manager is installed. Please contact our support department when you have not yet received your license for the Package Manager or when you have questions regarding the installation (support.cgn@tecalliance.net). 1.6 Data Delivery Deadlines The calendar for data delivery deadlines in 2014 can be found in the folder "DiskAddOn\DOCUMENTATION". When a data delivery deadline falls on a weekend you may still supply your data up to and including the deadline date. But when problems occur at the data upload, our support department will not be available outside of the regular hours: (Monday to Friday, 8h00 to 18h00 CET). 1.7 USA Vehicles Integration The USA vehicles that until now were treated separately will be integrated into the TecDoc vehicles until DMM version 03/2014. This means that vehicles created in the USA vehicle database but already exist in the global TecDoc vehicle list will be deleted at the DMM 3/2014. The references on the ACES format will be transferred to the relevant K-Types of the global vehicle list. K-Types from the USA list that were built before 1975 but do not meet the mandatory TecDoc criteria will be removed from the system. 1.8 The changing of alphanumeric to numeric values There are currently 102 "alphanumeric" attributes that also contain a measurement unit. In order to guarantee a uniform appearance of attributes in future, 10 of the 102 attributes will be changed from alphanumeric to numeric values as a first step at the version 04/2014. Please note that the following changes will be implemented at Version 04/2014: The following types will be changed from alphanumeric to numeric at these criteria: 265 "Payload [kg]" 274 "Brake Disc Thickness [mm]" 275 "Axle Load [t]" 312 "Vehicle Lowering [mm]" 324 "Fuel Tank Capacity [Litre]" TecAlliance GmbH Seite 5 von 14

378 "Mounting Time (in hrs.)" 423 Capacity [Litres]" 869 not for payload [kg]" 1024 "Electrode gap to be set [mm]" 1653 "Shrink Temperature [ C]" Please make sure until the data delivery 03/2014 at the latest, that your values for these 10 criteria are numeric. Criteria that are not of the numeric type at this data delivery will be deleted when validated with the version 04/2014!!! We can assist in identifying the criteria affected by these changes in your data. Please contact us if you require assistance. Also note that the admissible maximum values are reduced at some of these ten criteria. These are flagged as "CHANGE" in the Remain2Delete Excel list which can be found on the DMM DVD. The following alphanumeric criteria with unit values will be deleted without replacement at the version 04/2014 because they were not used by data suppliers: 418 "Cylinder Head Width [mm]" 788 Measurement Range [hrs.]" 793 "Measurement Range [psi]" 801 "Alarm Range [ C]" 802 "Alarm Range [bar]" 1063 "Total Br. Drum Height [Inch]" 1201 "Quick Repair Service [hrs.]" These deletions are also documented in the Remain2Delete list. TecAlliance GmbH Seite 6 von 14

TecAlliance GmbH Seite 7 von 14

2.3 Data Backup Methods It is essential to always have a full backup of your database; otherwise it will not be possible to restore your data stock if problems should occur during the full export or the installation. We therefore recommend that you first of all make a full backup of your database, as described below, before you start the full export. You can also save your data in the TecDoc Format and save them on a data carrier i.e. CD-ROM. That will ensure that your data is available in a consistent format and can be imported into any current version of the DMM. Below we describe various methods of making data backups make sure that you carry out at least ONE of these: 2.3.1 Database Backup Description: This is describing how a full backup of data within the same DMM version is done. Method: Stop the database by double-clicking the red traffic light icon on your desktop or on the shutdown.cmd file in the folder <Drive>:\TecDoc\DMM\Database. Wait for the DOS box to close to ensure that the database has shut down completely. Copy and save the Database folder to a safe location like a DVD, network- or external drive: <Drive>:\TecDoc\DMM\Database and the files PWDtecdoc.ora and SPFILETECDOC.ORA in the folder <Drive>:\TecDoc\Ora10g2S\database. Start the database by double-clicking the green traffic light icon on your desktop or on the startup.cmd file in the folder <Drive>:\TecDoc\DMM\Database. Wait for the DOS box to close to ensure that the database has restarted completely. PLEASE NOTE: This backup should not be installed in a successor or predecessor version of the DMM. This backup contains all data of brands maintained in the DMM as well as user profiles and TecDoc-PLUS data. The backup can only be done by user with local administrator rights. The backup can only be done on the DMM server. TecAlliance GmbH Seite 8 von 14

2.3.2 Creating a database dump Description: This is a full backup of all DMM data by creating a full database dump. Method: Copy the script dump.cmd from the DiskAddOn\Services folder on the DMM DVD, save it to a local folder on the DMM server and start it with a double-click. The database dump, dump.dmp, and the log file dump.log will then be created in this folder. This form of backup is especially suitable for the migration of data to a new operating system or another computer. 2.3.3 TecDoc Format Export (alternative data backup) Description: Generates unchecked data in the TecDoc ASCII format. If you maintain more than one brand, you should export the data for each brand into a separate folder. Method: Open the menu Export: TecDoc Format unchecked data (Import/Export -> TecDoc Format -> Export -> Unchecked Data). In the field Export Folder, select an empty folder outside of the DMM root directory. Select all data tables by moving them to the right with the double arrow. Start the export by clicking the Export button. Check the log file under Log for errors once the export is complete. Report any errors to support.cgn@tecalliance.net. PLEASE NOTE: This function exports unchecked data in the current TecDoc data format (TAF 2.2). The function exports only data for the brand currently selected in the DMM. The function only exports data that are required for production of the TecDoc CATALOG. Please note that the following information is not being exported and will be lost if you do not save it in another way: User Profiles TecDoc-Plus vehicles and their linkages Self-defined country groups Unlinked text modules Unlinked additional descriptions This function can usually be used by all users. TecAlliance GmbH Seite 9 von 14

It can also be run from a client to a local drive. The TecDoc format is relatively consistent and can usually also be imported into successor versions of the DMM, even it is not the direct successor of the DMM from which the export was done. 2.4 Full Export Start the DMM and log in with the user name "system" and the password "manager". Start the "Full Export" through the menu Import/Export -> Upgrade -> Full Export. Please Note: the following rules should be observed for source/target folders when importing/exporting data to/from the DMM (i.e. Full Import, Full Export): - Folder names should not contain any empty spaces and should not exceed 8 characters. The folder should therefore for instance be named "Export" and not "Full Export". - The path to the folder should not be too complex. We recommend "C:\Export" instead of "C:\Documents and Settings\Name\Application Data\New Folder". IMMPORTANT NOTE FOR PMD USERS: To optimise the full export and also reduce the export time, we recommend that you select the data to be exported. Here it is sensible to refrain from exporting competitor data and user actions and export only the last data check log file: TecAlliance GmbH Seite 10 von 14

You should delete all data check log files except the last one under the DMM menu "Data Checks ->Check Procedures->Delete check data": Now verify the sizes of table spaces in the current DMM installation under the menu Extras ->Database Administration. If this option is inactive under Extras, you can activate it under your user profile by opening the Extras menu under Functions and check the Database Administration checkbox (with a right mouse-click or with the space bar): Save the changes and leave this window. TecAlliance GmbH Seite 11 von 14

Now check the table spaces under the Extras -> Database Administration menu: Note the values for maximum sizes and the number of data files. 2.5 Uninstall the DMM version 1/2014 Open the Control Panel/Programs and Features menu. Select the TecDoc DMM/PMD entry from the list and click on Uninstall. Please note that you require local administrator rights for the uninstall! The Oracle installation associated with the DMM should remain on the computer! TecAlliance GmbH Seite 12 von 14

2.6 Installation of the new version 2/2014 2.6.1 Important notes on the installation The installation must be run from a local drive; i.e. either from a local DVD drive or from a local hard drive. When installing from a local hard drive folder, the pathname should not contain any special characters or empty spaces! The installation must be done on a local hard drive. Installing on a network drive is not possible. The pathname to the target folder should also not contain any special characters or empty spaces. DOS windows that appear during the installation should not be closed; they are required for the Oracle installation and may require some time (an active virus scanner may cause these processes to take up much longer times). The administrative share (C$) is required for the installation. In XP systems it can happen that this was disabled or removed. The system variable PATH should not exceed a length of 1024. 2.6.2 The Installation Save the DMM license that you received per email into a local folder on the drive where the DMM is to be installed (i.e. C:\LICENSE). Start the setup.exe file on the DMM DVD per double-click. Follow the prompts from the Installation Wizard and make sure that you select the appropriate installation type ( Client or Server and Client on Server/Standalone ). Reboot your computer before starting the new DMM. TecAlliance GmbH Seite 13 von 14

2.7 Data import into the new version Start the DMM and log on as follows: User ID: Password: system manager - Create a new user under Settings/User Administration. - Activate the Database Administration function for this user by selecting the function and checking the checkbox with a mouse-click or the space bar. - Now exit the programme and log on again with your own user profile, open the menu Extras/Data Administration and check whether the automatically selected values correspond with the values from the predecessor DMM that you wrote down. Adjust the values where needed. Now import your data from the predecessor through the DMM menu Import/Export -> Upgrade ->Full Import. The data can be found in the folder that you selected at the full export. 2.8 Continue the data maintenance You can now log on with your usual user name and password and continue the data maintenance.
