Citibank Ready Credit FAQ Q: What is Citibank Ready Credit? A: Citibank Ready Credit ( CRC ) is an unsecured personal overdraft with checking facility. A CRC Visa Debit & ATM Card will be issued to you once your CRC account is opened. You can perform cash withdrawals at ATMs with your CRC Visa Debit & ATM Card, pay your purchases by swiping your CRC VISA Debit & ATM Card at merchant outlets bearing the VISA logo, perform fund transfers and issue cheque(s)*. *If you have opted for a CRC cheque book. Q: Do I have to pay anything if I don't use my overdraft line? A: CRC is a pay-as-you-use product, meaning you do not have to pay for any interest charges unless you use your overdraft line. Q: Do I have to pay any commitment fee for the overdraft or standby line? A: No. Q: Will I be charged any withdrawal fees when I make ATM withdrawals? A: There will be no charges of any withdrawal fees for withdrawal performed at Citibank ATMs. However: a. a RM4.24 inclusive of 6% GST transaction fee will be charged if you make withdrawals on non- Citibank ATMs; and b. a RM4.24 inclusive of 6% GST transaction fee will be charged if you use VISA PLUS ATMs and MEPS Shared ATM (including Interbank ATM fund transfers via MEPS Shared ATM Network). c. Overseas withdrawals are subject to a 1% commission on local currency equivalent of overseas transacted amount and a RM10.60 inclusive of 6% GST transaction fee will be charged if withdrawals are made at a non-citibank ATMs located overseas. Q: What charges do I have to pay upfront when I apply for CRC? A: You will have to pay RM8.48 inclusive of 6% GST for your CRC VISA Debit & ATM Card. If you choose to have a CRC cheque book, you will have to pay RM7.50 for the cheque book and RM 2.65 inclusive of 6% GST for postage fee. Q: How do I activate my CRC VISA Debit & ATM Card? A: You will receive a welcome pack, together with your CRC Visa Debit & ATM Card and clear instructions. You will not be able to use the CRC Visa Debit & ATM Card until you call into Citiphone to activate the Card or walk-in to any of our Citibank branches nationwide to activate. Q: Is there any pre-authorisation for transactions done via CRC VISA Debit & ATM card? A: Yes. Citibank may withhold a fixed amount for certain transactions. The details would be as illustrated below. I. Petrol Pre-authorisation amount of RM150-RM200 for each transaction will be charged to your CRC account dependent on petrol provider s policy when you make payment using your debit card at automated fuel dispenser. The Bank will only post the exact amount of transaction and release any extra hold amount from your CRC account within 3 working days after the transaction date. II. Hotel Pre-authorisation amount will be charged to your payment instrument account/banking account dependent on the length of stay and hotel s policy when you make payment using your debit card for hotel transactions. The Bank will only post the exact amount of transaction Q: I don't have a CRC cheque book and would like to apply for one. How do I do this? A: You will need to fill up the Cheque Book Requisition Form and present it personally to any branch staff during banking hours. The Cheque Book Requisition Form can be obtained either at www.citibank.com.my/readycredit or at any Citibank branches nationwide.
Q: What are my responsibilities once I receive my CRC Visa Debit & ATM Card or cheque book? A: You must keep all CRC cheques, CRC cheque books and CRC Visa Debit & ATM Card in a safe and secure place and ensure that the Debit & ATM Card PIN and the T-PIN (telephone PIN) is not disclosed to any party (for example, not leaving them in your vehicle unattended) and you must take all steps and precautions to prevent any forgery, fraud or theft, including not drawing CRC cheques in a manner which facilitates forgery or fraud (for example, not pre-signing on your CRC cheques). Q: What happens if I lose my CRC VISA Debit & ATM Card or cheque book? A: Just call our 24-hours CitiPhone immediately. We will temporarily freeze your VISA Debit & ATM Card / checking facility (but not your CRC account). At the same time, we will arrange for a new CRC VISA Debit & ATM Card / cheque book for you. Q: What happens if the lost or stolen CRC Visa Debit & ATM Card is found? If the lost or stolen CRC Visa Debit & ATM Card is found, you must not use the card but must immediately cut the card into several pieces ensuring that the chip and magnetic stripe portion is completely damaged, and return the destroyed card to us.. Q: Can I enjoy Citi Rewards Points with my CRC VISA Debit & ATM card? A: Yes. You can enjoy 1 Citibank Rewards Point for every RM1 spent when you swipe your CRC VISA Debit & ATM Card for purchases at merchant outlets bearing the VISA logo. Q: Can I perform fund transfers with Citibank Ready Credit? A: Yes. You can transfer funds to any Current and/or Saving account with CRC account, through any Citibank ATM or MEPS Shared ATM, Citibank Online ( CBOL ), CitiPhone Banking or over the counter at any Citibank branch. Please note that all interbank GIRO transfers will be charged a fee of RM0.10 ( per transaction (this will be waived effective 24 th March 2015 until further notice) and MEPS Shared ATMs is subject to a RM4.24 inclusive of 6% GST transaction fee. Q: What is the Minimum Payment due on my Ready Credit account balances? A: The Minimum Payment is determined as follows: Revolving Balance Minimum Payment Due for the month (Effective from 31 st Oct 2015) RM0 to RM60 RM60 to RM1,500 Above RM1,500 *For Example: Full Revolving Balance + 100% Monthly Instalments (if any)* RM 60 + 100% Monthly Instalments (if any)* 4% of the Full Revolving Balance + 100% Monthly Instalments (if any)* If you have signed up for an instalment plan ie: BTI or PayLite, and the instalment amount is RM400 per month and the Full Revolving Balance is RM500 for the month, the minimum payment due would be RM460 i.e. RM60 (As Revolving Balance between RM60 to RM1500) + RM400 (100% of the monthly instalment amount) Q: What happens if I go overlimit? A: Overlimit is not allowed. If you issue any cheque(s) which results in your CRC account going overlimit, your cheque(s) will be dishonored and you will have to pay a handling fee of RM100 per dishonored cheque. If your CRC account goes overlimit due to interest or other fees and charges, the overlimit portion will be charged to your following monthly Minimum Payment due in your next statement.
Q: What happens if I cannot make my monthly Minimum Payment due on time? A: You will incur a late/insufficient payment charge of 1% per annum on the previous statement's monthly Minimum Payment Due for every late or insufficient payment. This will accrue on a daily basis from the next day after the monthly Minimum Payment Due date. When you are unable to pay 100% of your monthly Minimum Payment due over a period of two (2) consecutive months since your CRC statement date, the Default Interest Rate will automatically supersede the Boarding Rate. Please refer to the Product Disclosure Sheet to see the illustration. Q: How do I revert from Default Interest Rate to Boarding Rate? A: To revert from Default Interest Rate to Boarding Rate, you have to make 100% of your monthly Minimum Payment due in cleared funds or before the following month's statement date, for at least six (6) consecutive months following the imposition of the Default Rate. Please refer to the Product Disclosure Sheet to see the illustration. Q: What will be my liability for transactions resulting from lost/stolen CRC VISA Debit & ATM Card? A: If your CRC VISA Debit & ATM Card has unauthorised transactions resulting from it being stolen or lost, you must, 1. Inform us of the same immediately; and 2. Lodge a report with the Police within seven (7) days of the loss or theft You are advised to take reasonable care and exercise diligence to prevent such a loss or theft (as mentioned above). However, if you have acted fraudulently or dishonestly in using the CRC Visa Debit & ATM Card, you will be liable to you in respect of all transactions effected with your CRC Debit & ATM Card and for all losses, costs, expenses and damages suffered by us as a result of the fraudulent or dishonest act notwithstanding that you have reported the incident.
Citibank Ready Credit Balance Transfer via Instalment FAQ Q: What is Citibank Ready Credit Balance Transfer via Instalment ( CRC BTI )? A: CRC BTI allows you to transfer your outstanding balances held with other bank's credit/charge card(s) to your Citibank Ready Credit account via instalment plan. Q: What is the difference between existing balances transfer ( BT ) offered by other banks or financial institutions compared with CRC BTI? A: Under BT, you have flexibility of paying a 5% minimum sum toward the outstanding balance in your credit card account whilst under CRC BTI, you will pay fixed and equal monthly instalment. Q: What is the minimum outstanding balance amount for each credit / charge card can be transferred? A: Minimum outstanding balance amount to be transferred is RM1,000 per credit / charge card. Q: What is CRC BTI repayment tenure? A: You can choose repayment tenure of 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 48 months or any other period as Citibank may offer or approve. Q: What if I fully settle the balance before its maturity? A: Unless otherwise communicated to you, Citibank will impose a RM100 early settlement fee on each CRC BTI your have booked in the event you make a cancellation on the CRC BTI before reaching half of the tenure committed. For the avoidance of doubt, the early settlement fee will be charged on each BTI booked and subsequently terminated CRC BTI before reaching half of the tenure. Q: What if I fail to fulfill my obligations? A: If you fail to make any CRC BTI monthly instalment in full by the due date, you will incur finance charges. If you fail to make three (3) or more consecutive CRC BTI monthly instalments in full by payment due date, the total amount due under the CRC BTI (comprising of outstanding CRC BTI instalment and total unbilled principal) together with finance charges at the Applicable Rate will be included in your outstanding balance and Citibank can declare all or part of it to be immediately due and payable by you. Q: Will CRC BTI be eligible for any Rewards Points or Cash Rebates? A: No. the CRC BTI will not be eligible for Reward points or cash rebate. A: It is an installment feature in CRC where you can convert your available overdraft line in your CRC account subject to Citibank s approval, into cash loan and transferred to your Citibank or other off-us Current or Savings account of your choice and pay in monthly instalment. Q: Who is eligible to apply for a CRC PayLite? A: All existing CRC account holders. CRC PayLite must be applied together with CRC application if you are yet a CRC account holder. Q: What is CRC PayLite repayment tenure? A: You can choose repayment tenure of 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 48 month or any other period as Citibank may offer or approve. Q: How do I receive the funds? A: Funds are disbursed to your Citibank or any off-us Current or Savings account of your choice via interbank GIRO. Manager s Cheque is send if the disbursement failed due to unforeseen reason. Q: Can I choose to split the funds and to be credited into two or more separate off-us Current or Savings account? Example: a portion of the funds transferred to RHB bank and some to Maybank? A: No, only to one account in totality and you must be the sole owner of the account. Q: Can I request for a reduction in the interest rate after booking? A: No. The interest rate is fixed. Q: Can I change the tenure once CRC PayLite is approved? A: No. The tenure is fixed. Q: Can I top-up my CRC PayLite amount? A: No. If the customers already have a CRC PayLite and the CRC account holder request another RM2,000 to be topped-up on the existing CRC PayLite, this is not allowed. However, the CRC account holder can apply for another PayLite amounting to RM2,000 in this case, provided the total amount of all CRC PayLite meets the limit criteria. Q: Can I have 2 CRC PayLite installments running simultaneously? A: Yes, provided the approved CRC overdraft line is sufficient and subject to Citibank s approval. A: The effective interest payable will be calculated from the date of approval and will be computed based on a monthly reducing balance repayment method.
