Exemptions National Boards (with the exception of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia) may grant an exemption from the requirements where the applicant provides evidence that they: completed secondary education that was taught and assessed in English in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, South Africa, United Kingdom or United States of America and hold tertiary qualifications in the relevant professional discipline that was taught and assessed in English in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, South Africa, United Kingdom or United States of America. Further Study This course may also provide pathways into other higher qualifications in nursing and/or health care. Participant Requirements All candidates are to provide: 1. Evidence of a pass in IELTS with an over-all minimum score of 7.0 with a minimum of 7.0 in each module or OET nursing version level of B or above in a single sitting. Note: Participants are able to undertake English Language testing at AISI where proficiency of English certification is not available. 2. Appropriate reference checks. 3. Evidence of current nursing practice in the past 1-3 years. 4. Certified copies of Nursing Qualifications. Course Program Unit 1: Working in the nursing profession This unit develops the skills and knowledge required to practise as a nursing professional with clients across the lifespan in a range of health care environments, such as acute care, community care, mental health, aged care, medical / surgical. Unit 2: Communication skills in nursing practice This unit describes the skills and knowledge required for effective communication in complex communication situations and its application to nursing practice; the function and purpose of small groups; meeting procedures; and the dynamics of group work and evaluation as a tool for continuous improvement. Unit 3: Client assessment and developing nursing care plans The skills and knowledge required of an Enrolled/Division 2 Nurse in contributing to the development of individualised health care plans by collection of data captured during a client's preliminary and ongoing health assessments are developed through this unit. Unit 4: Planning of nursing care This unit builds up the knowledge and skills required to implement nursing care plans for individual clients and evaluate the care provided in a range of health environments. Unit 5: Reflective practice, critical thinking and analysis in health This unit develops the skills and knowledge required of the Enrolled/Division 2 Nurse to demonstrate nursing practice in a contemporary health environment using critical thinking and analysis and reflective practice. Unit 6: Management in a health care business The skills and knowledge required to manage the business requirements of a practice within the health care environment are covered in this unit. Unit 7 (Optional): Clinical Practice - Practice in the contemporary aged care environment This unit develops the skills and knowledge required to implement principles of aged care nursing, enabling the Enrolled/Division 2 nurse to provide holistic nursing care to aged clients at an advanced level. Duration 10 weeks full time study at 20 hours per week. Where participants engage in clinical placement, additional hours will be scheduled on a weekly basis. Conditions under which Australian Industrial Systems Institute will refund course fees: If the offered course does not start on the scheduled starting date or an alternative agreed starting day. If the course ceases to be provided after the course starts but before the course is completed In the unlikely event that AISI is unable to deliver your course in full, you will be offered a refund of all the course money you have paid to date. The refund will be paid to you within 2 weeks of the day on which the course ceased being provided.
