USE AND CARE OF SILESTONE AND ECO BY COSENTINO AS TILING OR FLOORING APPLICATIONS.
USE, CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE Silestone and ECO by Cosentino are materials that can be used as building materials both for tiling and flooring aications, and as any tye of work surface, on stairs, lift floors, as cladding, etc. REGULAR CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE. Silestone and ECO by Cosentino are low orous surfaces and therefore highly resistant to everyday domestic stains. For regular cleaning of Silestone or ECO by Cosentino surfaces, Cosentino S.A. recommends you use Q-Action. If Q-Action is not available, water and mild soa is the best otion for regular cleaning. CLEANING STUBBORN STAINS. For difficult stains, our Q-Action onto the affected area leaving it to act for 2 mins. Next gently scrub with a soft scouring ad (for ceramic hobs), rinse with enty of water and dry. The following are some of the actions to be carried out for stubborn stains that have built u over time. GREASE STAINS Ay Q-Action to the stain and gently scrub with a soft scouring ad (for ceramic hobs) until it disaears. Rinse immediately with water and dry. LIMESCALE Pour an anti-limescale roduct (like Viakal or similar) onto the surface and leave to act for 1 min. Rinse with enty of water and dry. Follow the instructions recommended by the manufacturer. Do not use on any roducts (tas, sink, etc) other than the workto itself as it might damage their finish.
SILICONE AND PUTTY MARKS If staining occurs during the use of silicone sealants or utty, as is common during installation, use a knife and CleanColorsil or solvent (that does not contain dichloromethane) and gently scrub with a soft scouring ad (for ceramic hobs). Then rinse with enty of water and dry. We recommend that the marks are removed at the time of installation. For more information, you can go to www.silestone.com or www.ecobycosentino.com REAL CASES: Exames of roducts that should not be used on Silestone and ECO by Cosentino surfaces: Paint striers, brush or metal cleaning roducts, oven cleaning roducts, methylene chloride cleaning roducts, acids for unblocking drains, solvent with acetone, etc. In case an oxidant or oxygen action cleaner is used, or one with a chlorine or bleach base (such as salfuman), always dilute it in water according to the manufacturer s secifications. If any of these roducts are ever silled onto the surface, remove as soon as ossible using enty water and mild soa. SUEDE AND VOLCANO FINISH COUNTER TOP CLEANING Like all unolished materials, Silestone or ECO by Cosentino with a Suede or Volcano finish, are more rone to visible stains and have higher maintenance requirements. They are therefore not recommended for aications subject to heavy use (for exame, flooring in areas with significant transit of eoe or machines). In the case of the Volcano texture, this material has an anti-stain treatment that rotects against a number of agents that are common in different uses other than in tiling and flooring aications. We cannot guarantee that this surface treatment aied in the factory during roduction will not deteriorate over time with heavy use if aied as flooring. For the regular cleaning of Silestone or ECO by Cosentino surfaces with unolished textures, Cosentino S.A. also recommends the use of water and neutral soa. For stubborn stains use a non-scratch scouring ad without aying too much force.
PRECAUTIONS: REACTION TO KNOCKS: One of the characteristics that make these surfaces stand out is their high resistance to knocks. However, avoid striking areas of the surface that due to the fabrication of design, may be slightly weaker (ointed corners, fine edges, etc.). REACTION TO HEAT: Do not ace objects recently removed from the heat, directly on to of the surface.leave them on to of a tablemat (if ossible with rubber suort) to cool down. The reasoning behind this is that the thermal shock caused by the difference in temerature (cold/hot) could damage the surface. REACTION TO U.V: Do not ace outdoors or anywhere exosed to direct UV rays. CHEMICAL AGENTS BEHAVIOUR: Do not use reellents, sealants, olish, etc. Do not olish. Do not use aint striers, caustic soda, or roducts with a h of more than 7. If bleach or solvent is used, it should be diluted with water and never left in ermanent contact with the roduct. Avoid all chlorine based roducts and any contact with Fluorhydric acid. Do not use degreasing agents with a high mineral content or highly vigorous roducts. Avoiding using metal scouring ads or metal cleaning tools. The use of this tye of roduct can lead to the loss of the roduct guarantee.
