Student Government Communications Assistant Application Thank you for considering becoming the Communications Assistant to the Executive Board (Student Government) of the Associated Students of Edmonds Community College (EdCC). The Communications Assistant coordinates the distribution and collection of information regarding Student Government; responsible for marketing and promoting events or services provided by the association and is expected to work on and create innovative campus marketing methods. When you complete your term at the end of spring quarter you will have learned new skills, had valuable learning experiences, met new people and have an experience you can put on your resume! In this application packet you will find the necessary information and forms you will need to complete your application. Please read the information carefully. Communications Assistant to the Executive Board Position Requirements Student government Communications Assistant to the Executive Board requires that you meet and maintain certain requirements including being able to commit to the training dates and times listed below. Term of office: July 1 st, 2015 June 17, 2016 Requirements at Time of Application For your application to be considered you must meet the following requirements: Must have completed a minimum 6 EdCC credits prior to spring quarter 2015 Must have a cumulative g.p.a. of 2.5 or greater for all EdCC coursework Must be currently enrolled for spring quarter 2015 Requirements When Training Begins To begin as an Assistant you must meet the following requirements: Registered for fall quarter when training begins August 24, 2015 Must have a work eligible by August 24, 2015. Be continuously enrolled for a minimum of 6 credits fall, winter and spring quarters. Complete a minimum of 6 credits each quarter enrolled with a g.p.a. of 2.50 or greater. Training will be done both on an individual and team basis. The majority of training will occur from August 24 - September 18, but there will be some job shadowing from June 2-19. A tentative training schedule will be given to you at the interview. There will be an overnight breakaway from August 25-26. Pre-Fall Quarter Training Dates: Monday, August 24 Friday, September 18 Training Schedule: Monday Friday with most training occurring between 8:00 am 5:00 pm. Academic Year Schedule: Be able to serve and work up to 17 hours each week. Fall quarter: September 21 December 14, 2015 Winter quarter: January 4 - March 18, 2016 Spring quarter: April 4 June 17, 2016 Note: There might be adjustments regarding the existence and amount of hours required for this position depending on the funding for the fiscal year 2015-2016. Pay: $10.50 per hour.
