Ignite Entrepreneurship Program This program is designed to provide High School students with the opportunity to develop their entrepreneur skills and ultimately start their own business. The program will be a combination of online learning, workshops and hands on activities. Students will also receive hands on coaching and mentoring to assist in making their business successful. Eligibility: Must be enrolled at Cayuga, Dunnville, Smithville Christian or West Lincoln Secondary School; Grade 9 - Grade 12 ( if under 18 years of age a parent / guardian needs to sign the application) Financial Information: No Financial support available through this program. Summer Company Program An opportunity for enterprising students to start and run their own summer business. Students receive hands on coaching and mentoring from local community business leaders to aid them in the making their summer business a success. Eligibility: Must be attending high school, college or university in Ontario and live in Ontario; Must be a Canadian citizen of permanent resident; Between ages 15-29; Cannot be already running a business; Cannot work more than 12 hours a week at another job during the program; Must be a student returning to school after the program ends. Financial Information: If application approved, students are eligible to receive up to $1,500 to put towards the business startup costs. Upon successful completion of the program, students may receive up to$1,500. Starter Company Program Young adults between ages of 18-29 can receive a grant and professional mentoring to start and expand a business in Ontario. Receive one-on-one guidance, access to business workshops on topics from writing a business plan and budgeting to executing a marketing campaign, and experience running a business. Eligibility: Ontario resident; Between ages 18-29; Not attending school full time. Financial Information: Funding is available of up to $5,000 for starting and expanding a business. To qualify for full funding, applicants need to be able to contribute at least 25% (cash or in- kind) of the grant amount. Futurpreneur Canada Futurpreneur Canada (formerly The Canadian Youth Business Foundation) champions youth entrepreneurship across Canada by providing pre- and post-launch coaching, business resources, start-up financing and mentoring to empower young Canadians, aged 18 to 34, to start and grow a business that contributes to sustainable economic development in their communities. Start-up Program This program provides young entrepreneurs with start-up resources, mentoring, financing, and the expertise and support needed to help emerging entrepreneurs grow a successful business. The Start-Up program provides the vital tools and guidance required for long term success. Eligibility: Between ages 18-39 Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada; If a full-time student, must be in graduating year. Financial Information: Financing of up to $45,000; Futurpreneur Financing Terms: Up to $15,000 with a term over five years Interest charged at CIBC s prime rate plus 3% Interest-only payments for the first year 5
