Palliative Care Nurse Practitiner Prgram in Gippsland The develpment f the Palliative Care Nurse Practitiner Candidacy Prgram (Prgram) was ne f 11 recmmendatins f the Specialist Palliative Care 1
Cnsultancy Service Plan fr Gippsland (Service Plan) and a key cmpnent f the Service Plan s implementatin strategy in 2011. The Prgram is integral t the prvisin f specialist palliative care when and where it is needed in Gippsland. In Nvember 2012 GRPCC appinted an endrsed palliative care Nurse Practitiner Mentr (NPM) t prvide mentrship, supprt and clinical guidance t the regin s NPCs and t build the prfile f the NP rle in the regin. The GRPCC currently prvides funding t lead services t supprt the emplyment f Nurse Practitiner Candidates (NPCs). This funding assists services t emply a NPC fr the prvisin f a fractinal sub-reginal service and t supprt training fr the NPC t gain endrsement. GRPCC prvides additinal funding t assist with specialist clinical supervisin and clinical placements at metrplitan based palliative care services.
