Homeland Security Grant Program Goals Enhance state and local governments capabilities to prevent, protect against, respond to, and recover from terrorist attacks, major disasters, and other emergencies. 3
Process Each state submits prioritized list of investments for funding Peer Review of investments analysis of relative risk to assets and populations Anticipated effectiveness of grant programs in addressing identified homeland security needs 4

NIMS Compliance Matrix FY 2007 Complete ICS 300 ICS 400 Training Compile inventory of response assets validate that inventory conforms to FEMA Resource Typing Standards Utilize response asset inventory for mutual aid requests, exercises, and actual events 11
NIMS Compliance Matrix FY 2007 Develop systems and processes to ensure that incident managers at all levels share a common operating picture of an incident Establish public information system to gather, verify, coordinate and disseminate information during incident 12
NIMS Compliance Matrix FY 2007 Monitor and assess outreach and implementation of NIMS requirements Provide a consistent nationwide template for Federal, State, and local governments, the private sector and non governmental organizations to work together for disaster preparedness, response and recovery. 13
