Current Employment InsureandGo LTD (June 2013 - Present) Web Designer At InsureandGo, I am responsible for the design, build and maintenance of the websites and artworks for the UK, Australia, Ireland and the USA and quote processes for both core and aggregators. These include, but are not limited to: Argos, Debenhams, The Guardian, The Telegraph, Ford and Perrys, to name a few. I currently work in a 2 person team assisting in the development of quote process sites, subbranded websites and providing design expertise to aid the build and development of all web projects. I work within the complete transformation process of the core websites, to bring them in line with modern web trends, as well as designing and building new sites from scratch. I have thorough knowledge of all Windows packages and use Adobe Design and Creation packages extensively, as well as Visual Studio. My role brings out my ability to think outside of the box and allows me to focus and visulise ways of designing an effective web page. I am also a part of bringing in responsive mobile sites to enhance the experience of using both websites and quote projects. To coincide with this, I maintain a strict understanding of site and print branding to ensure everything is kept presentable. From a more developmental point of view, languages and technologies I have used within this role include: MVC 3 and 4 ASP.Net Some C# Wordpress Experience HTML5, CSS and pre-processors JavaScript / jquery Centralised Source Control BrowserStack and PutsMail for testing Previous Employment White Stores LTD (February 2012 - May 2013) IT Technician & Web Developer At White Stores, I was responsible for assisting in all internal workings of the web sites and IT infrastructure. My role also included designing web banners, icons and a new and improved White Stores website as the business grew. As well as this, I looked after online portals and presences, including but not limited to: Magento websites and ebay and Amazon listings, all integrated together into a central, stock management system through custom APIs. I worked in a team of 4 people dealing with the development of basic HTML / CSS mini-sites, small e-commerce websites and provided internal systems support to all staff. The team and I were responsible for the complete transformation of the systems web infrastructure of White Stores, moving all internal email systems to Google Apps, centralising stock management with existing e-commerce solutions using complex API s and implementation of internal and cloudbased backups and Linux based internal workstations. I was also in charge of maintaining all hardware for staff members, building computers from the ground up and maintaining the servers, user configurations and back-up systems and ordering of hardware. Progressive Marketing (2011-2012) Web Development At Progressive Marketing, I was in charge of the development of websites for clients, this included the initial meeting and hand drawn prototype up to the final site hosted within the server. During my time there, I worked on a variety of projects amongst staff members and learned to create wire frames and web media in Adobe programs and implement that onto a full functional website. I also assisted in the maintenance of computer systems throughout the business. About Me Since a young age, I have been interested in IT and technology. I am keen on reading about the latest developments in the industry and this enables me to better myself and my knowledge. I have a young son, who was born in 2012. I pride myself on being a very hands-on father and I enjoy seeing him learn new things and develop. I am also a car enthusiast and this is my primary hobby outside of work and my home life. I like to attend various motor shows across the UK and experience and appreciate the effort that is put into these. I am confident in my abilities, but also very willing to learn new skills.
