This tax levy of $72,605,822 for capped funds represents no increase over last year s tax extension. The total 2013 Property Tax Levy is $74,565147, inclusive of the debt service levy. HINSDALE TOWNSHIP HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT 86 RESOLUTION TO LEVY TAXES Resolution #13-03 WHEREAS, the Board of Education of Hinsdale Township High School District 86, DuPage and Cook Counties, Illinois, is authorized by Section 5/17-2(2) of the School Code [105 ILCS 5/17-2(2)] to levy, by proper resolution, a special tax for educational purposes; and WHEREAS, the Board of Education is authorized by Section 5/17-2(2) of the School Code [105 ILCS 5/17-2(2)] to levy, by proper resolution, a special tax for operations and maintenance purposes; and WHEREAS, the Board of Education is authorized by Section 5/17-2(5) of the School Code [105ILCS 5/17-2(5)] to levy, by proper resolution, a special tax for transportation purposes; and WHEREAS, the Board of Education is authorized by Section 7-171(b) (2) of the Pension Act, as amended by Public Act 89-329 [40 ILCS 5/7-171 (b) (2)] effective August 17, 1995, to levy a tax in an amount reasonably calculated at the time of levy to provide for the school district contributions under Section 7-172 to the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund; and WHEREAS, the Board of Education is authorized by Section 5/21-110 of the Pension Code [40 ILCS 5/21-110] to levy by proper resolution, a special tax for social security purposes; and WHEREAS, the Board of Education is authorized by Section 5/17-2.5 of the School Code [105 ILCS 5/17-2.5] to levy, by proper resolution, a special tax for tort immunity purposes; and WHEREAS, the Board of Education is authorized by Section 20-3 of the School Code [105 ILCS 5/20-3] to levy, by proper resolution, a special tax for working cash fund purposes; and WHEREAS, the Board of Education is authorized by Section 5/17-2.2a of the School Code [105 ILCS 5/17-2.2a] to levy, by proper resolution, a special tax for special education purposes; and WHEREAS, the Board of Education is authorized by Section 17-2.11 of the School Code [105 ILCS 5/17-2.11] to levy, by proper resolution, a special tax for fire prevention, safety, and energy conservation purposes. High School District 86, DuPage and Cook Counties, Illinois as follows: Section 1: For the ensuing year, the County Clerks of DuPage and Cook Counties, Illinois are hereby authorized and directed to extend, and there is hereby levied, the following special taxes on behalf of this school District: a) The sum of $ 56,867,638 to be levied as a special tax for educational purposes; b) The sum of $ 9,618,057 to be levied as a special tax for operations and maintenance purposes; purposes; and c) The sum of $ 1,761476 to be levied as a special tax for transportation d) The sum of $ 0.00 to be levied as a special tax for Working Cash purposes; and e) The sum of $ 960,805 to be levied as a special tax for Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund purposes; and and f) The sum of $ 920,771 to be levied as a special tax for social security purposes; g) The sum of $ 675,566 to be levied as a special tax for tort immunity purposes; h) The sum of $ 1,801,509 to be levied as a special tax for Special Education Program purposes; purposes; i) The sum of $ 0.00 to be levied as a special tax for fire prevention and safety Section 2: The amounts of money levied under Section 1, and as indicated on the Certificate of Tax Levy, attached to and made a part of this resolution shall be raised by special taxes for the various purposes as in the Certificate of Tax Levy indicated for the ensuing year. (President) (Clerk or Secretary of the School Board of Said School District) When any school is authorized to issue bonds, the school board shall file a certified copy of the resolution in the office of the county clerk of each county in which the district is situated to provide for the issuance of the bonds and to levy a tax to pay for them. The county clerk shall extend the tax for bonds and interest as set forth in the certified copy of the resolution, each year during the life of the bond issue. Therefore to avoid a possible duplication of tax levies, the school board should not include a levy for bonds and interest in the district's annual tax levy.
