Mr. Wald is a Principal in the prestigious family law firm of Hughes & Hughes, and it s predecessor firm, Hughes & Sullivan with the primary responsibility of litigation of complex family and elder abuse cases and the training and supervision of firm associates and paralegals. Mr. Wald received extensive mediation training and conducts family law mediation as an alternative to litigation. 1979-2008: Mr. Wald maintained a select, private practice in Irvine, California restricted exclusively to family law and domestic relations litigation. Mr. Wald has been responsible for numerous high profile dissolution actions in the Orange County Superior Court, including issues related to contested child custody and visitation, valuation and division of community business entities, determination and collection of child and spousal support and other complex domestic relations issues. Mr Wald has vast litigation experience, including, innumerable Court Trials, contested hearings on Order to Show Cause and Law & Motion practice. 1976-1979: Mr. Wald was employed as a Senior Litigation Associate by the Century City law firm of Novak, Cooper & Wohlgem uth.. Mr. Wald s professional responsibilities included, the litigation of complex domestic relations cases, the training and education of associate attorneys and paralegals, business generation, case management, and the maintenance of client relationships. 1973-1976: Mr. Wald assumed a position as civil and family law litigation associate in the San Diego firm of Sankary & San kary. This position provided Mr Wald with the opportunity to preside over numerous civil and dissolution trials, as well as preparation of discovery, law & motion and related procedures.
Professional Recognition Mr. Wald has been assessed with an AV peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. 1994-Present. Mr Wald is frequently appointed by the Orange County Superior Court to act in the capacity of Special Master to the Court to issue recommendations and findings regarding various issues arising from domestic relations litigation. Mr. Wald has successfully concluded approximately 100 such appointments. 1982-2002, Mr Wald frequently assisted the Orange County Superior Court by sitting as Judge Pro- Tem, presiding over various civil settlement conferences and small claims trials. Mr. Wald has completed the intensive 40 hour training in Mediating the Divorce Agreement as offered by the renowned American Institute of Mediation. Mr. Wald is currently one of the select members of the family law bar requested by the Family Bench of the Superior Court, to preside over Voluntary Settlement Conferences in family law cases. Professional Activities Adjunct Professor at Goldengate University, Irvine Campus (1992-1999). Mr. Wald authored written course materials and composed and personally delivered weekly three hour lectures for a ten-week course entitled "Legal, Tax and Valuation Aspects of Marital Dissolutions, a post-graduate course for Certified Public Accountants. This course has been recognized for Continuing Education requirements for the California Accountancy Board.
