The amount of electricity you use is measured in and priced by kilowatt-hours (kwh). Each kwh of electricity is actually,000 watts of electricity used continuously for one hour. APPLIANCE USAGE CHART The average monthly kwh usage in the following charts was developed by New York State utilities and approved by the New York State Public Service Commission. THE FIGURES ARE ONLY ESTIMATES. Your actual usage may vary depending on the size of your family, the age and size of a particular appliance, how often it is used, and the efficiency of the appliance. You can calculate the approximate operating cost of any electrical appliance by checking its wattage and using these formulas:. x Hours Used,000 = kwh. kwh x Cost per kwh = Operating Cost Since the cost per kwh fluctuates from month to month, please check your most recent Central Hudson bill or the Central Hudson web site at www.centralhudson.com/residential/energyinfo.html for the most current pricing information. While our delivery costs will remain stable, prices for the supply of electricity and natural gas will fluctuate, based on actual supply and demand. Television type, wattage and usage varies widely from household to household. Televisions also have what is called a standby load. We bill you in CCF, a measurement of the volume of the natural gas that you receive. To calculate the approximate operating costs of any natural gas appliance you must check its BTU rating and use these formulas:. BTU = CCF 00,000. CCF x Number of Hours Used x Cost per CCF = Operating Cost Since the cost per CCF fluctuates from month to month, please check the Central Hudson web site at www.centralhudson.com for the most current pricing information.
