1 Adequate Explanations CCTA PLA H&T Pawnbrokers are required by law to provide you with the following information in order for you to decide if the loan is suitable for your needs and to highlight any aspects of the way the product works that you may not expect. What if I don t pay on time? The principal consequences of not paying on time are: 1. You may incur a missed payment fee for each agreed payment you fail to make, 2. You may incur costs from your bank for unpaid items, and 3.The amount of interest you will pay on your loan will increase as we accrue interest to the account Entering into a Personal Loan agreement would be unsuitable to support sustained borrowing over long periods and would be expensive as a means of longer term borrowing. We do share credit information and your missed payment may make getting credit more difficult in the future. We also reserve the right to take legal action, including making an application for bankruptcy, where we believe you can repay. We will also continue to try and collect money owed using Direct Debit or the debit card you provided us with in linewith the current regulations laid down by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). For further information, please see below. If you can t repay on time you should contact us to discuss options and arrange an alternative repayment plan. This will help you minimise any costs you may incur. Although we will try to contact you, it is your responsibility to have funds available on the due date of your loan or to contact us in the event you can t pay, or have missed a payment. As part of our pre-contractual commitment, we will supply you with an information sheet that describes the risks associated with refinancing and failing to pay your loan on time. Please read the information sheet and ask questions if you require further information. How to contact us The best way to ask questions or to manage your loan is to speak to the store where you took it out (or intend to take it out) simply visit handtpawnbrokers.co.uk and select Store Locator to find their phone number. Alternatively call us on or us on How will H&T assess my application? Whenever you apply for a loan we will assess your application against our criteria to make sure that it is the right product for your circumstances. We will undertake a number of checks when you apply for a loan to confirm your identity and to see if you have loans outstanding with other lenders. We will also look at your income and other credit commitments to help us reach a decision as we will not lend to people we don t believe can afford to make repayments. During the application process we will rely on statements you make and information you give us. Before you complete your application, you should also satisfy yourself that you will be able to afford the repayments. If you think you will have difficulty making the repayments then you should tell us and we will try to find a solution.
2 What will my loan cost? Total amount of credit for Total amount payable Payable in equal instalments of Total charge for credit interest Interest rate (fixed) Representative APR How will you communicate with me? We may contact you by phone and text message before your due date to remind you that payment is due, but it is your responsibility to ensure that funds are in your account to make the repayment. Where we have your address, we will also send you information by . How will my loan be repaid? We collect payments by Direct Debit or debit card on the due date of your payments. If you are repaying with a debit card We may take your payment using a Continuous Payment Authority ( CPA ). A CPA allows H&T to take payments due directly from your bank account. You can cancel a CPA at any time either by contacting us directly or your bank. Please quote your agreement number in any correspondence. We will only take payment using CPA with your explicit permission on the date or dates agreed. In the instance you make an arrangement to repay your loan using CPA, we will take payments on the dates and at the frequency agreed by you for the duration of that agreement. If that payment fails, we will try to contact you to determine the reason the payment was unsuccessful and to discuss possible alternative repayment arrangements with you. Where we make contact with you and you are in a position to make a separate, one-off payment, you should do so. Where you are unable to make a payment, we may require that you make other payment arrangements which might include your agreeing to enter into a repayment plan with us and/or agreeing to further CPA payments to be made for future installments. If despite our reasonable efforts we can t contact you, or where on contacting you, you unreasonably refuse to make a one-off payment or enter into an alternative repayment plan, then we may take formal action against you to recover repayment of the loan and any interest and fees owing by you in full. If the Payment Date or dates set out in the Agreement should fall on a Saturday, Sunday or a public holiday, then payment may be taken on the previous working day. Any payments taken will show as HARVEY AND THOMPSON on your bank statement.
3 What if I change my mind? You have a right of withdrawal from this loan, that means you can simply pay us back the money you borrowed, plus interest calculated on a daily rate up to the day you repay us. In order to exercise this right you should use the contact details above within 14 days of taking out the loan. What if I don t understand? You have the opportunity to ask the store staff questions, to refer to this document and the Pre-Contract Information. In addition you can take this information away to properly consider it, then complete your application on another day. What if I am not satisfied with the service I receive? We endeavour to provide all our customers with the best possible service. If you feel that we have fallen short, please contact us: In person Your local H&T store By telephone By info@handt.co.uk In writing to The Manager of your local H&T store or : Harvey & Thompson (T/A H and T Pawnbrokers), Times House, Throwley Way, Sutton, SM1 4AF We will do our best to resolve any concerns by the end of the next business day. If we cannot do this, we will send you a written acknowledgement and tell you who is dealing with your concern. Finally once we have provided our final response to your concerns, if you remain dissatisfied, you can ask the Financial Ombudsman Service for an independent review. They can be contacted at: Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) Exchange Tower London E14 9SR Tel: complaint.info@financial-ombudsman.org.uk For other issues, you should contact your local Citizens Advice Bureau or Trading Standards Office. You can obtain more information about the Citizens Advice Bureau at Trading Standards Office - Authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority

5 Financial Conduct Authority Information sheet High-cost short-term loans No.003 Failing to repay on time Think carefully - rolling over or extending your loan may not be the best option and could make things worse. Don t ignore the problem Think carefully before borrowing more. Borrowing more money is likely to worsen your situation. Work out how much you owe. To do this, you will need to make a list of all the organisations you owe money to. A debt adviser can help you. Put priority debts first. Some debts are more urgent than others because the consequences of not paying them can be more serious than for other debts, for example, mortgage, rent, council tax/rates, or gas or electricity arrears. A debt adviser can help you to budget to keep your finances under control. Discuss options with your lender If you are having trouble paying back on time talk to your lender who can suggest ways to repay and make sure it is affordable for you. If you don t, you may quickly face increased costs from interest or charges. Missed payments could also affect your credit rating and make it more difficult to get credit in the future. Get free help and advice People that access advice resolve their issues more quickly than those that don t and hundreds of thousands get free debt advice every year. Contact one of these organisations for free debt advice. See over for details of where to get help and advice. Financial Conduct Authority 1
