1 ARTICULATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN MOBERLY AREA COMMUNITY COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI - COLUMBIA OVERVIEW: This formal program of articulation agreement is made and entered into by the University of Missouri - Columbia College of Education, hereinafter referred to as MU, and the Junior College District of the Moberly Area, Moberly, Missouri, (Moberly Area Community College) hereinafter referred to as MACC. By this agreement, MACC and MU express a shared commitment to increasing opportunities for student access to and success in higher education. By clarifying transfer policies and procedures which assure articulation between programs, the institutions seek to assist students in making a seamless transfer from the associate to the baccalaureate degree. PURPOSE: This agreement provides students who have earned an Associate of Arts degree with an Emphasis in Elementary Education the opportunity to complete a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at MU. Any MACC student who has earned an Associate of Arts degree is guaranteed that MU will accept designated freshman and sophomore teacher education credits, will accept all general education credits, and will apply such to the Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education degree in a manner consistent with the treatment of native students. CONDITIONS OF TRANSFER: MACC students maintaining continuous enrollment under this agreement will be afforded the same treatment and protections as MU native students enrolled under a specific catalog. Criteria for acceptance into the articulated program at MU will be the same for transfer as for native students. MACC, upon request of students, will provide verification of completed courses to MU through its College of Education Office of Academic Programs. The transcript of students transferring from MACC will be evaluated by the MU Office of Admissions. Transfer students from MACC will have access to financial aid, and student services on the same basis as native students.

2 Minimum grade standards for academic progress and graduation from MACC will be subject to no further review by MU. MU will apply the same academic progress and graduation standards to MACC transfer students as those applicable to native students at MU. SECTION II: TRANSFER OF CREDIT Thirty of the last 36 semester hours of credit must be completed at MU (residency requirement) to be applied to the Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Transfer students from MACC, meeting the criteria listed below, upon acceptance into the teacher education program at MU, will have Phase II (professional) standing at MU for the Elementary Education degree program. Criteria for Admittance to Phase II of the Teacher Development Program: Satisfactory completion ofedu190 Introduction to Education, EDU230 Technology for Teachers, EDU240 Teaching and Learning, and EDU290 Education Capstone Completion of Education courses with a cumulative GP A of or higher An overall cumulative GPA of2.750 An ACT composite score of 22 or higher or SAT score of 1010 or higher A score of235 or higher on each subtest of the C-Base exam (The C-Base exam must be completed prior to transfer because all sections must be passed before entering Phase II.) General information regarding the C-Base exam: A student who does not meet the minimum required score may retake that section(s}. Students will have two years from the first testing period to retake those portions of the exam in which they must raise their score. After two years, the entire exam must be retaken. A passing score is a Missouri Teacher Certification requirement. It is recommended students take this test after completing 45 hours of college credit. All sections must be completed and passed prior to transfer to MU. 6 TERMS OF AGREEMENT: This agreement is made and entered into in the academic year of and remains in force unless changed in writing by mutual agreement of both parties. The agreement may be amended at any time with the approval of both parties and is subject to regular review to assure accuracy with respect to degree requirements. Should either party desire to discontinue this agreement, advance notification of two years will be required. SIGNATURES: The Junior College District of the Moberly Area, Moberly, Missouri, (MACC) and University of Missouri - Columbia College of Education (MU) hereby enter into this program articulation agreement leading from the Associate of Arts to the Bachelor of Science by the affixing of signature of the chief executive officers of both institutions.
