3 BEST PRACTICES Nearly all E&T applicable programs have received and maintained discipline-specific accreditation; some as continued accreditation; some as new accreditation; and some as forthcoming anticipated accreditation Global Design Student organization as a model for international collaborations. The Computer Graphics Technology Study Abroad Program in Poland and the Organizational Leadership and Supervision Study Abroad Programs (GO GREEN) have become models for other departments to follow The addition of a sophomore advancement review requirement for students who intend to progress to the junior/senior level in Interior Design has proven to be a valuable assessment tool which has increased the quality of work, making student s more competitive and prepared for the profession as they receive feedback regarding areas of strength and weakness in their work. Interior Design students have been wildly successful in the creation of the Student Design Organization, a student group mentored by our faculty who accomplish design related community service activities, workshops and facilitate guest speakers while also producing a huge show each year to showcase student work and progress the profession in a multitude of ways. E&T faculty have developed, implemented, assessed, and disseminated results on a sophisticated critical thinking rubric Building the online M.S. in Music Technology program as a live video-streamed part of the degree program The New Student Academic Advising Center was created to provide a mechanism for uniform advising and transfer credit practices, a coordinated syllabus for both engineering and technology first-year seminar courses, and coordinated retention initiatives for all firstyear students in the E&T. Created and conducted an annual career fair specific to engineering and technology students and employers. Program quality and student learning continue to be a focus of E&T s Assessment Committee Ongoing review, improvement, and enhancement of accomplishments continues Enhance assessment processes for graduate-level programs Maintain accreditation and seek ways to align and better coordinate these efforts Expand the Laptop Program to other departments and programs beyond Computer Graphics Technology Expand the use of alternative course delivery approaches (online, hybrid, late-start, off-site, intensive, etc.) to all degree programs Retention initiatives and mentoring programs for first-year students will be expanded

4 CAMPUS CLIMATE FOR DIVERSITY Several female faculty members have been recruited to E&T in recent years E&T has the largest percentage of international students at IUPUI E&T is a leader in awarding Technology degrees to female students E&T has maintained a long-standing Minority Engineering Advancement Program, which seeks to attract underrepresented students to the disciplines of engineering and technology The School of Engineering & Technology, in partnership with: Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS); Veiola Water; Rolls Royce and; the Schools of Science and Education at IUPUI, has established the Pathways program whereby students, beginning in the 5 th grade at five IPS schools enroll in science and math curricula designed in cooperation with partners and matriculate to Harshman Middle School and then to Arsenal Tech. The curriculum is designed so that students that complete the program will possess the minimum prerequisites to meet engineering program entry requirements. The program has hired a full-time director with IPS students and teachers involved in activities with partners. E&T was a recipient of 3-year ( ) IU President s Grant for Diversity, with an emphasis on providing scholarships, mentoring, and support for underrepresented students. POWER Camp (Preparing Outstanding Women for Engineering Roles) first weeklong, residential camp for high school girls in To date, 139 high school girls from Indiana, Puerto Rico, and several other states have attended. The camp is low cost for the girls and is fully funded by contributions from business (Rolls-Royce primary sponsor) and professional organizations. E&T has diverse student organizations: Society for Women Engineers; National Society of Black Engineers; and Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers E&T entered into a partnership with the Atlanta University Consortium (AUC) and its Dual Degree Engineering Program (DDEP). The DDEP is an academic partnership between AUC undergraduate institutions (Clark Atlanta, Morehouse and Spelman) with affiliated engineering institutions across the country, including the likes of Missouri University of Science and Technology formerly the University of Missouri Rolla, Georgia Tech, University of Michigan and others. Selected students at AUC undergraduate institutions complete an engineering degree at partner institutions (approx. two years) after completing three year programs majoring in science, computer science or math. Students would then receive two degrees; a B.S. from the AUC undergraduate institution and a B.S. in Engineering from the partner institution. Motorsports Engineering continues to attract diverse, out-of-state, and female students to its program A+PLUS (Adult Programs in Leadership for Undergraduate Students) was launched this year by Organizational Leadership and Supervision to provide further outreach to adult learners Continue to attract and retain underrepresented students and faculty to E&T Evaluate the effectiveness of diversity-related interventions to maximize results Continue to partner with external organizations to assist E&T with its diversity initiatives
