2 Get maximum value from you Create an Integrated View of Your Business Customers To accurately assess your business customers total value and opportunity, you need a foundation of high-quality, integrated customer information for your Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and other key business information initiatives. But achieving a comprehensive view of business customers is challenging for several reasons. First, different departments within your company collect and maintain different views of the customer, and have different points of contact. Second, your customer information is in different formats from system to system and often from record to record within the same system. Third, you don t have processes to maintain clean, integrated customer information. Fourth, business customers are more difficult to understand and track than Business Benefits of Customer Integration Manager Gives you a secure, onsite solution for quickly addressing customer data-quality problems Drives better sales and marketing results by integrating business customer information from your diverse systems and automatically maintaining the completeness and quality of that information Supports relationship management by creating and maintaining an integrated, company-wide view of business customers Lets you cost-effectively share D&B business information across the enterprise Helps you interact consistently with customers across all touch points Allows you to gain the strategic insights needed to optimally manage your most important asset your customers consumer customers because they may need to be viewed from many different perspectives, such as the whole corporation, a specific location or business unit, or all of these. For all of these reasons, many companies have customer information that is incomplete and fragmentary. Customer Integration Manager helps you bring together all the different angles, or views, of the customer by assigning consistent customer IDs to records from all of your systems and storing these customer records in a central Common Customer Directory. The Common Customer Directory is used to identify customers in future interactions, or as part of an ongoing integration process to consolidate customer information into a data warehouse. Customer Integration Manager also includes an onsite database of D&B global business information that can be used to give you an enhanced view of business customers matched to the D&B global business database. Built on industry-standard technologies and installed in your own data center, Customer Integration Manager operates as a stand-alone system accessed through a Web browser or embedded in existing applications through its application programming interface (API).
3 r enterprise systems and Sales and Mar How Customer Integration Manager Works Customer Integration Manager creates an onsite Common Customer Directory, which integrates various views of your own internal business customer identities, and enriches these views with additional information from D&B s global business database. As new customer records are added to your enterprise systems, Customer Integration Manager s proprietary matching capability finds a matching customer record in the Common Customer Directory, allowing you to consistently identify the customer in future interactions. Then it enriches the customer record, using the D&B D-U-N-S Number to link to other information about the customer in the D&B database. Finally, it returns the normalized and enriched customer record to the source system in the specified format. Through this unique process, Customer Integration Manager can transform a partial and even inaccurate record into a more complete and current customer record. When customer information added to enterprise systems doesn t match any record in the Common Customer Directory, Customer Integration Manager creates a new record initially populated from the D&B database. If there is no match to the D&B database, the new record is added to the D&B onsite database. The new customer record is then made available for matching in the Common Customer Directory. Easy Deployment and Rapid Results Customer Integration Manager supports manual review of matches and batch and online processing and therefore can integrate with your source systems and processes. Its userfriendly interface allows both business managers and IT resources to configure and maintain business rules. And, because software alone isn t enough, Customer Integration Manager is supported by D&B professional services consultants for data analysis, application development and help with system integration. Indeed, business customer information decays at a rate of 1V% to 3% every month*, so if you re not regularly updating your business customer information, it s steadily degrading.
