I have given a range of talks at this outfit on a yearly basis from 2006 to the present. 2) European Union s Human Rights Programme Middle East region. This programme is housed at the Faculty of Law at the University of Malta, and I have given talks in both 2001 and Conference Papers I have given a number of academic papers over my career at professional association conferences, including the Canadian Political Science Association, British Middle East Studies Association, and the Canadian Council of Area Studies Learned Societies, as well as various conferences held at universities in Canada, Jordan (1999), Saudi Arabia (2005), and the UK, including Durham University, the University of Liverpool, and the Centre for International Governance Innovation, Waterloo. As well, more recently, I co-organized two major workshops on the Middle East in Windsor in 2009 and 2011 the first titled: Beyond Apology and Utopia: Critical Engagements with Good Governance in the Arab World, and a second, which was funded by a SSHRC workshop grant, Beyond Apology and Utopia: Towards Just Societies in the Middle East. Participants at both workshops included academics and civil society actors from the Middle East. Jerusalem Old City Initiative: Workshops From December 2005 until February 2012, I have organized all, and participated in many of the workshops held by the Jerusalem Old City Initiative. The workshops were held at various locations including Istanbul, Jerusalem, London (UK), Durham (UK), Washington, Ottawa, Toronto, and Windsor. Participants included our major international
