1 WEDI National Pre-Conference Program May 19, 2008 WEDI is pleased to present the Health IT Certification, LLC s training and certification program for Electronic Health Records (EHR), Health Information Exchange (HIE) and Health Information Technology (HIT). These programs prepare individuals in the health care industry to understand and demonstrate their competency in planning, selecting, and implementing health information technology (CPHIT), organizing and successfully operating the exchange of electronic health care information among provider organizations (CPHIE), and achieving value from an electronic health record (CPEHR). Each program is ten courses in length. Four courses focused on topics of specific interest to most WEDI members are offered on May 19, Individuals can elect to take just these four courses as a seminar that addresses key planning elements for HIT, HIE, and EHR, or to complete an entire curriculum by taking these four courses in person and the remaining courses for EHR, HIE or HIT online. The certification exams for CPEHR, CPHIE, and CPHIT are also offered online. Special pricing arrangements are available for the remaining online curriculum for those registered for this one day in person program. Two of the new CPHIE track courses are being offered for the first time at a public conference: HIE Goals and Governance, and HIE Architectures. 4 The Health Information Technology (HIT) program is designed primarily for those individuals engaged in planning, selection, and implementation of health information technology in general as well as electronic health records. The Health Information Exchange (HIE) program designed primarily for those individuals who are responsible for planning, governance, information architecture and stewardship, personal health records, telehealth and home monitoring, as well as other exchanges of electronic information among organizations. The Electronic Health Record (EHR) program is designed primarily for those individuals who have already selected or implemented an electronic health record, and are interested in enhancing its capabilities. The WEDI preconference curriculum includes two courses common to all three tracks and two new courses for Health Information Exchange. CPHIT Legal and Regulatory Aspects of HIT, HIE and EHR Change Management for HIT, HIE and EHR HIT Technology, Privacy and Security Principles of HIT Project Management Managing HIT ROI HIT System Selection HIT Implementation and Support Health Information Exchange CPEHR Legal and Regulatory Aspects of HIT, HIE and HER Change Management for HIT, HIE and HER Data Management Patient Safety: CPOE, e-rx and BC-MAR PHRs and Care Coordination Interoperability Clinical Decision Support Electronic Document Management Systems CPHIE Legal and Regulatory Aspects of HIT, HIE and EHR Change Management for HIT, HIE and EHR HIE Goals and Governance HIE Architectures Data Stewardship Personal Health Records Telehealth and Home Monitoring Nationwide Health Information Network Both the CPHIT and CPEHR courses and examinations are available online now.
