4 Koninklijke Nederlandse Kennelclub Cynophilia ad Cynophilia In 1890 werd door lieehebbers van rashonden de Nederlandse Vereniging van Lieehebbers en Fokkers van Rashonden opgericht. Kort daarna werd de naam Cynophilia toegevoegd. Zij is daarmee de oudste algemene kynologenvereniging. Dat zelfde jaar werd in Scheveningen, door de eerste voorzitter, H.A. Graaf van Bylandt, een tentoonstelling georganiseerd. In 1948 werd Z.K.H. Prins Bernhard beschermheer van Cynophilia; enige tijd later werd aan Cynophilia, als enige kynologische vereniging, het predikaat "Koninklijke" toegekend. In samenwerking met de Koninklijke Nederlandse Jagers Vereniging "Nimrod" en de Kynologenvereniging Nederland, heeft KNK Cynophilia de Raad van Beheer op Kynologisch Gebied in Nederland opgericht. 4

5 Welcome to the Amsterdam Winner Show 2014! Ladies and gentlemen, On behalf of the entire Winner team it is my pleasure to welcome you at the 2nd Holland Cup and the special Winner Show On Friday we start this three day-event with the Holland Cup, the one-day dog show, which precedes the two-day exhibition, the Amsterdam Winner Show. This three-day event is special for a number of reasons. The Winner Show is celebrating her 125 year jubilee and the final of the Eukanuba World Challenge, for the first time organised outside the United States of America, will be held here, at The Winner Show in Amsterdam. At this final the world s most beautiful dogs will compete in the Eukanuba World Challenge You are invited to attend the final on Saturday in the late afternoon and in the beginning of the evening. For the first time the Winner Show is organised by the Royal Dutch Kennel Club Cynophilia and the Raad van Beheer op Kynologisch Gebied.. We do hope that this co-operation will improve the quality of this show year after year. At this show we welcome many exhibitors from all over the world. In various halls visitors can watch the judging of the dogs, but there is much more to see. Demonstrations about almost everything one can do with a dog. Visit and discover dogs and get all the information you want in our special, little village, the so called hondendorp. A wide selection will be offered in the trade centre, articles just for fun, information about food or just something to make your life of that of your dog more welcome. It would be impossible organising an event like this without volunteers. Many of them you will see at the showground, judges, stewards and so on. But a great number of them are invisible for you right now. So, to all of them; thank you so much for spending so much time to help this show being successful. 6 Welcome to the Holland Cup, Amsterdam Winner Show and We would like to say a heartfelt thank you for the fantastic entry, over 6500 dogs are entered for these events! As Dutch Kennel Club Raad van Beheer we are proud to say that in an excellent partnership with KNK Cynophilia and Eukanuba we were able to organize these three events. The Dutch Kennel Club Raad van Beheer has been closely involved with the Amsterdam Winner Show for years. As from 2014 the Raad van Beheer formally is a 50% organizing partner of the Holland Cup and Amsterdam Winner Show. The Eukanuba Challenge is a partnership between the Raad van Beheer and Eukanuba. If you are a visitor of these shows you will be surprised to see the great variety of breeds and the passion and involvement between humans and dogs! This year, as usual, there will be considerable attention for demonstrations of various sports and working with dogs. As from hrs you can watch the judging in the ring of honour from the spacious tribunes for free. Come and enjoy this judging with us and you will see Dutch, European and this year even dogs from way beyond perform. If you are present Saturday 13th December at the Amsterdam Winner Show we kindly invite you to take a seat at the tribunes of the ring of honour as from hrs. You will be able to enjoy a unique event in the world for free. For the first time since the start of the Eukanuba World Challenge this prestigious event will take place in the Netherlands during the Amsterdam Winner Show. The Eukanuba World Challenge will start at hrs. Over 40 topdogs from around the world will compete for the coveted title of Eukanuba World Challenge Champion Top breeders and judges from around the world will be present and as a visitor of the Amsterdam Winner Show you will be able to enjoy this special event for free. 6 At Sunday afternoon around hrs the Best In Show judging will take place in the ring of honour. Who will become 2014 s Amsterdam Winner Best In Show?

7 7 Eukanuba World Challenge 2014! Also present during these events will be the Canine Care Team. They will not be acting as police officers but will point out to exhibitors that dogs need to be treated responsible and respectful. We assume you will see that together we as: judges, exhibitors and organization need to do all we can to set an example for visitors in the daily intercourse with our best companions, our dogs. Respect for one another and each others animals and our sport is of the utmost importance. As an organization we have made all efforts to make the Holland Cup, Amsterdam Winner Show and Eukanuba World Challenge 2014 colorful and unique events. We could not have done this without all of our volunteers; both operational as well as ring stewards and personnel who will do their utmost to have everything run smoothly in and around the judging rings for exhibitors and visitors alike. Of course we would also like to thank our partners; together we have made it possible to organize these events. We would like to wish you a pleasant visit and success during our three days of show. 8 8 World s Best Canines Seek Ultimate Crown in Amsterdam Eukanuba World Challenge 2014 to see competing top winning dogs from 5 continents New location but same tradition and commitment to excellence New one day format and a choreography with many firsts for even more enhanced drama Geneva, December Excitement throughout the purebred dog community is growing rapidly as December s Eukanuba World Challenge 2014 final draws near. The globally renowned competition will take place on December 13, 2014, in Amsterdam. With the support of the FCI and The Kennel Club (UK), approximately 40 dogs from five continents have earned a slot to compete at the event, which will be held at the RAI Exhibition Centre. The Eukanuba World Challenge is one of the world s most prestigious events for dogs, said FCI President Rafael de Santiago. Its greatness has been to establish a worldwide connection between kennel clubs, breeders, exhibitors, judges and the general public. As an event sponsored by the FCI, the move to Europe has been a logical progression.

9 Mr Gerald King of The Kennel Club spoke of the positive effects of a victory at the Challenge. The Eukanuba World Challenge is a showcase and celebration of quality dogs. Ricky s win last year placed British dogs on a world stage as an example for others, and showed just how much talent and dedication there is to breeding and showing dogs in the UK. A foundation of collaboration Eukanuba is a long-standing Partner of Excellence to the Dutch Kennel Club, and the two organizations are working tirelessly to make this year s Eukanuba World Challenge a thrilling and memorable event. This year marks the eighth edition of the Eukanuba World Challenge, and is the first time the final competition will be held in Europe. Gerard Jipping, President of the Dutch Kennel Club ( Raad van Beheer ) said: I feel very honored that the EWC will be organized in connection with the famous Amsterdam Winner Show. The Netherlands has a strong and old tradition in breeding and showing dogs. No question, the Dutch Kennel Club will provide a first class organization to EWC We look forward to meet dog lovers from all over the world in Amsterdam for the EWC Finals and the Amsterdam Winner show. Hosting the Eukanuba World Challenge is the popular Amsterdam Winner Show, an all-breed event of which Eukanuba is the proud principal sponsor. Rony Doedijns, heading the Amsterdam Show s organization committee, feels that the first Europeanbased final could also become the most memorable. The dog world here in Holland is very excited to welcome the Eukanuba World Challenge to Amsterdam! It s a busy time here but team spirit is great and we are doing our best to perfect every detail! 10 10 Firsts for a winning formula Among other important contributions Eukanuba will oversee the set up and design of the main ring, bringing several interesting innovations such as theatrical lighting and choreography to reflect the drama and scale of the Eukanuba World Challenge. An expressly composed Eukanuba World Challenge anthem has been penned to commemorate the show as well as to create an audible motif throughout the day. The always-popular Ceremony of Flags will highlight the competition s international feel, and provide a stirring recurring theme for the show s climax. Along with the Eukanuba World Challenge s relocation to Europe, there are several other firsts to be included in this year s event. The entire competition will now take place on one day, and all phases will be held in the main ring for maximum exposure and continuity. These will range from pre-judging, semi-finals, and ultimately the Best in Show finale. Every challenge offers new opportunities, said Jose Luis Ibanez, EMEA Breeder Manager and Eukanuba World Challenge Show Chair. The move to Amsterdam is certainly a new chapter, and with it we will seize the chance to take the Eukanuba World Challenge to the next level. All the world s a stage It is interesting to note that for the first time Section judges will be assigned immediately before the start of competition by process of a draw in the main ring, adding a heightened level of excitement and expectation.

11 11 For the first time the competition will include a canine representative from Israel, and a Shetland Sheepdog from the UK is making its debut appearance for his breed at the Eukanuba World Challenge. Mr. Ibanez added, The Eukanuba World Challenge is all about bridging the continents and allowing the crème de la crème from around the world of dogs the chance to share a stage and celebrate the magnificence of our canine friends. EWC from comfort of home Once again Eukanuba will sponsor free live-streaming of the main ring throughout the days, enabling a global audience to follow all of the excitement in Amsterdam. Masters of Ceremony Mrs Marina Scott (UK) and Mr Rony Doedijns (NL) will co-host, and offer viewers at home insight into the proceedings of this popular event. 17 17 Discover Dogs Discover dogs is available for all Dutch breed clubs recognised by the Dutch Kennel Club Raad van Beheer and gives the clubs an opportunity to present their breeds and give information about the breed and club to visitors. This year 45 breed clubs are representing their breeds one, two or three days. All days a special breed presentation will take place in the main ring or in the events ring, where we try and have as many different dog breeds present in the ring and have the breed clubs give a small presentation about the breed. For sure this will be a history making week! Excitement throughout the purebred dog community is growing rapidly as December s Eukanuba World Challenge 2014 final draws near. The globally renowned competition will take place on December 13, 2014, in Amsterdam. With the support of the FCI and The Kennel Club (UK), 35 dogs from five continents have earned a slot to compete at the event, which will be held at the RAI Exhibition Centre. THE EUKANUBA WORLD CHALLENGE IS ONE OF THE WORLD S MOST PRESTIGIOUS EVENTS FOR DOGS said FCI President Rafael de Santiago. Its greatness has been to establish a worldwide connection between kennel clubs, breeders, exhibitors, judges and the general public. As an event sponsored by the FCI, the move to Europe has been a logical progression. THE EUKANUBA WORLD CHALLENGE IS A SHOWCASE AND CELEBRATION OF QUALITY DOGS. Ricky s win last year placed British dogs on a world stage as an example for others, and showed just how much talent and dedication there is to breeding and showing dogs in the UK. A foundation of collaboration Eukanuba is a long standing Partner of Excellence to the Dutch Kennel Club, and the two organizations are working tirelessly to make this year s Eukanuba World Challenge a thrilling and memorable event. This year marks the eighth edition of the Eukanuba World Challenge, and is the first time the final competition will be held in Europe. Rony Doedijns, heading the Amsterdam Show s organization committee, feels that the first European based final could also become the most memorable. It s a busy time here but Firsts for a winning formula Among other important contributions Eukanuba will oversee the set up and design of the main ring, bringing several interesting innovations such as theatrical lighting and choreography to reflect the drama and scale of the Eukanuba World Challenge. An expressly composed Eukanuba World Challenge anthem has been penned to commemorate the show as well as to create an audible motif throughout the day. The always popular Ceremony of Flags will highlight the competition s inter national feel, and provide a stirring recurring theme for the show s climax. Along with the Eukanuba World Challenge s relocation to Europe, there are several other firsts to be included in this year s event. The entire competition will now take place on one day, and all phases will be held in the main ring for maximum exposure and continuity. These will range from pre judging, semi Finals, and ultimately the Best in Show finale. For the first time the competition will include a canine representative from Israel, and a Shetland Sheepdog from the UK is making its debut appearance for his breed at the Eukanuba World Challenge.
