2 Organizational history: Scope and content: The United States Geological Survey was established on March 3, Per the department s website, it is a science organization that provides impartial information on the health of our ecosystems and environment, the natural hazards that threaten us, the natural resources we rely on, the impacts of climate and land-use change, and the core science systems that help us provide timely, relevant, and useable information. This collection consists of 41 black and white aerial photographs taken August 28 and 31, 1975 by the U.S. Geological Survey department for the USDA of Fort Kent and its surrounding area. These images were used by University of Maine at Fort Kent professors in various classroom projects before their placement in Blake Library. Inventory: Corresponding grids to aerial photographs.
