T-Systems designed a highly cost-efficient migration solution which allows all the existing workflows and processes to remain untouched.

5 We also ensured that other existing components could be integrated into the new platform. Standard adapters for connecting the legacy systems and reusable modules make it possible to expand the IT infrastructure quickly and decrease costs and effort for tests during the launch phases of new products. As an essential component in the billing chain high-performance pre-billing systems compile complex information on tariffs and volume. The complete collection, preparation and provision of a vast amount of usage-dependent raw data are mandatory prerequisites for the further billing process. Reference. On behalf of T-Com, the largest Internet service provider in Germany, T-Systems conducts billing for access charges and content services. The required raw data is provided by an inhouse pre-billing system at T-Com. In order to be able to respond flexibly to new requirements and at the same time to cut costs, T-Systems was awarded the contract for the Application Lifecycle Management of the existing prebilling solution. The basis for the organizational migration was our proven business process outsourcing model. As a result the operating costs could be reduced substantially. The project was implemented in a short time-frame providing full business continuity for T-Com s customers. Collection and processing of international usage data. Read-out, collection and transmission of usage data are parts of a business-critical process for any telco carrier. Billing mediation devices have become key components in the billing chain. They consolidate the usage data for all voice and data services on one central platform and generate standardized call detail records which can then be processed by the various business support systems. Reference. In the ibmd project for T-Mobile in Germany T-Systems developed a platform for billingmediation which replaced the previous system. Our powerful solution based on standard products achieved significant cost savings. All customer and product-related information including billing data of 42 million customers was smoothly migrated to the new application environment. The new modularized system, which is rapidly adaptable, integrates new value-added services and special tariffs and thereby provides for a long-term increase in flexibility of the billing process.
