1 IxNetwork IxCloudPerf QuickTest Technology Overview The networking industry is in the midst of a fundamental change towards centralization of application delivery via concentrated and dense private and public data center cloud computing sites. Corporations are concentrating IT spending in data centers and scaling them up via server virtualization to reduce complexity and associated operational cost, while enjoying capital cost savings. While traditional benchmarking tools provide the latency and throughput measurement of the device/network, the same cannot be applied to a data center. In a typical data center, there are various North-South (server-client) traffic but at the same time there are also various East-West (server-server) traffic. It is therefore required that organizations validate the performance of a data center fabric under the variety of North-South and East-West traffic condition. 2 IxCloudPerf QuickTest The IxNetwork IxCloudPerf QuickTest (QT) is the first of its kind to emulate various North-South and East-West traffic loads and validate the forwarding performance of the data center fabric. It uses the real-world application traffic profiles to mimic data center application traffic.
