3 4. CVMDECT feature list 4.1 General features ULS (EU-DECT variants only) Ultra Low Standby, this mode enables the device to stay standby for extended periods. ULE Ultra Low Energy, This protocol feature allows the user to set up a network of ultra-low energy devices (i.e. sensor/ actuator units). Both Unlocked and paging mode are available. EU-DECT A complete package of settings for broadcasting in the EU network US-DECT A complete package of settings for broadcasting in the US network J-DECT (2ch) A complete package of settings for broadcasting in the US network with 2 channel support J-DECT (5ch) A complete package of settings for broadcasting in the US network with 5 channel support DECT 6.0 K-DECT (Korean DECT) A complete package of settings for broadcasting in the Korean network AES-128: AES 128 bit encryption is enabled: DSAA-2 Point to Point Audio (Walkie-talkie mode) Two PP s can communicate with each other without a base station. Base station subscriptions Number of DECT subscriptions per base: Number of ULE subscriptions per base: 64 total* 64 total* Note 1: *The maximum number of registrations is 64 in total so combinations can be made (i.e.10 voice and 54 ULE registrations or 32 voice and 32 ULE registrations and so on, any combination is possible.) 4 Protocol features CAT-iq V1 Wideband Audio Wideband audio, or HD voice, refers to the next generation of voice quality for telephony audio resulting in high definition voice quality compared to standard digital telephony "toll quality". It extends the frequency range of audio signals transmitted over telephone lines, resulting in higher quality speech. The range of the human voice extends from 80 Hz to 14 khz but traditional, voice band or narrowband telephone calls limit audio frequencies to the range of 300 Hz to 3.4 khz. Wideband audio relaxes the bandwidth limitation and transmits in the audio frequency range of 50 Hz to 7 khz or higher. Caller ID recognition Caller ID (caller identification, CID), also called calling line identification (CLID), calling number delivery (CND), calling number identification (CNID) or calling line identification presentation (CLIP), is a telephone service, available in analog and digital phone systems. It transmits a caller's number to the called party's telephone equipment during the ringing signal, or when the call is being set up but before the call is answered. Where available, caller ID can also provide a name associated with the calling telephone number. The information made available to the called party may be displayed on a telephone's display, on a separately attached device, or be processed by an attached computer with appropriate interface hardware Dialog Semiconductor GmbH 3 of 11
5 4.2.2 CAT-iq V2 All mandatory CAT-iq V2 functionality All mandatory CAT-iq functionality is in place, please refer to document ref [2] for more information. List Access Service (LAS) LAS allows the synchronisation of i.e. call lists and phonebooks. Synchronization of system settings Time and date can be synchronised between PP s and the FP Multiple lines handling Multiple line handling is supported by the SC14CVMDECT module. Headset support Headset functionality is supported with a separate input specifically for this functionality. Easy PIN code registration An improved and easy to use way to configure the PIN code Easy pairing registration By placing the connecting the PP to the base (e.g. putting the handset in the base station) it will automatically register. Handset Locator Paging mode to locate all registered PP s No emission mode (EU-DECT only) 2014 Dialog Semiconductor GmbH 4 of 11
6 4.2.3 CAT-iq V2.1 3-party conference call A conference call can be set up with up to 3 other participants (4 total) Intrusion call The attendant intrusion (Call Offer) button allows an attendant to intrude on an existing call to offer a new call or message to the intruded party. When the attendant releases the intruded call, the source party waits at the intruded party s analog telephone or holds on an available line appearance on a digital telephone. CLIR CLIR (Calling Line Identification Restriction) controls the presentation of caller identity (via CLIP) in GSM networks. If CLIR is enabled, the caller s MSC indicates this restriction to the destination MSC. The identity is then not forwarded to the destination mobile station. Personal Phonebook Support in PP Each PP can have a unique phone book which can be synchronised to allow a quick setup for the end costumer. SMS Support for text messaging Diagnostic features Extended diagnostic features for faster time to market Answering machine control Early encryption Re-keying Green power saving Recommended tones (optional) Handset Capability Enquiry 2014 Dialog Semiconductor GmbH 5 of 11
