2 NatureBridge Educational Programming MISSION Our mission is to foster environmental literacy to sustain our planet. ABOUT NatureBridge provides multi-day environmental science programs for K-12 students in national parks. We are the largest residential environmental education partner of the National Park Service, delivering programs in nature s most magnificent classrooms including Yosemite, Golden Gate, Olympic, Santa Monica Mountains, Channel Islands, and Prince William Forest. Founded in 1971, NatureBridge welcomes more than 600 schools and 30,000 students and teachers each year to our six campuses where they are immersed in the wonder and science of nature. In our first 44 years, we have provided life-changing experiences to over one million participants. NatureBridge is also committed to increasing access for underserved students by offering tuition assistance to Title I schools. We believe environmental education should be a part of every child s life. When we take students outside into the world around them, they experience remarkable personal growth, improved interpersonal skills, and increased academic ability. With your help, we can do more to prepare our young people to address the environmental challenges we face today and prepare them for success in the workforce of tomorrow. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA PROGRAMS Locally, NatureBridge environmental science programs provide K-12 students the opportunity to learn in both the Santa Monica Mountains and Channel Islands national parks. Students can explore beach shores, chaparral, mountainscapes, and islands in one of the few Mediterranean biomes in the world.
