Prioritized research in stem cell therapy. Returned program to double digit growth in transplants and has grown transplants from 1800 per year to over 6000 per year. Co-founded the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR) in The CIBMTR is the largest observational research and clinical trials organization in the world. The CIBMTR receives funding from NCI and NHLBI of NIH and the Office of Naval Research. Secured new contracts with Dept of Health and Human services to manage the CW Bill Young Cell Transplantation Program Led the organization through the development of the Center for Cord Blood to improve understanding of and access to cord blood as a source of cells for transplant. The NMDP progressed form no cord blood transplants in 2000 to over per year in Co-founded the Cellular Therapy Alliance (CTA) with the European Blood Alliance and America s Blood Centers. The CTA is a trade association of organizations involved in cellular therapies. NMDP has been named as a Top Workplace in Minnesota in NMDP was also named one of the 50 most innovative companies in 2012 by Fast Company magazine; number one in the Healthcare category.
